1stcruiser1 Posted September 19, 2009 #27 Share Posted September 19, 2009 Thank You! I can't wait to go to Jacks. Just wanted to make sure we carry enough cash, it does look very reasonable.
Rocketdyne Retiree Posted September 28, 2009 #28 Share Posted September 28, 2009 Do all these cruise port places accept US $?? Am used to converting money to local currency in my previous (non-cruise) travels? Thanks for the info.
ev8876 Posted January 25, 2010 #29 Share Posted January 25, 2010 Loved our visit to Jack's Shack. Cheap drinks. We all bought Jack's Shack T-Shirts and Jack gave us a free drink for each shirt we purchased. As other posters have said, walk right past Margaritaville. Patsfan3 Posted January 28, 2010 #30 Share Posted January 28, 2010 It sounds like the beach at Jack's is nicer than at the port?-correct? Looking for clear calm water with lots of sand, no rocks. Would Jack's be appropriate for a family?

K&RCurt Posted January 29, 2010 #32 Share Posted January 29, 2010 Do you know if you pass Jack's on the way to Governer's Beach? No, Governer's Beach is in the other direction. (to the Right as you leave the pier).
susanrobert Posted January 31, 2010 #33 Share Posted January 31, 2010 Islandnurse2006--Can you please give directions to Jack's shack from the cruise pier? Can you walk it? Is it to the right of the pier or the left? We went to the left to Governors last year and then walked to the right at the end of the day to collect conch shells but we didn't see anything else down there to the right. I am confused. Thanks so much!
klmorg Posted January 31, 2010 #34 Share Posted January 31, 2010 And... what time does Jack's Shack open? I think we'll be in GT pretty early! Also... credit cards or cash only?

There is a satellite image showing the location of Jack's Shack on the bottom of the home page of their website. It's really helpful, and shows exactly where it is located in relation to the cruise dock. http://www.jacksshack.tc/Home.php
susanrobert Posted February 1, 2010 #36 Share Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks so much. You've been a great help. Looks like we'll be paying Jack's Shack a visit in May!
klmorg Posted February 1, 2010 #37 Share Posted February 1, 2010 I asked this question earlier and didn't see an answer, but I think the answer is... Cash only at Jack's Stack? No credit cards, right? Thanks!
ev8876 Posted February 1, 2010 #38 Share Posted February 1, 2010 We were there a week ago. They took credit cards for the t-shirts we bought.
Crusin Karen Posted February 7, 2010 #39 Share Posted February 7, 2010 Can't wait to go here! I had all this info typed up when we were supposed to cruise to GT in Sept, '08 but it was cancelled due to the hurricane. :( It was to be our lst time there. We will try again in May! ;)
C&F Posted February 10, 2010 #40 Share Posted February 10, 2010 I've always wanted to find Jack's over our last 4 cruise stops there. This summer, I will do it. I do have one minor concern, though. My wife is a vegetarian and very picky at that. I see the menu has nothing mentioned that she'd be able to eat. Anyone ever get something NOT on the menu? No big deal, because we'll be there early. We'll just eat a big breakfast and then maybe a liquid lunch at Jack's!!
jazznj2 Posted February 15, 2010 #41 Share Posted February 15, 2010 Just back from Grand Turk and a day at Jack's Shack on the 11th! Can't say enough great things about the shack and Jack and Janet the owners! We had the time of our lives and will go back to Grand Turk just to go to Jack's Shack again! KEG21552 Posted February 15, 2010 #42 Share Posted February 15, 2010 We were there 2 weeks ago. My brother wanted to pay with credit card, Jack said he preferred cash. Did not say he wouldn't take cc, but I would be prepared with cash. I believe the shop is operated by the dive company and while they so sell Jack's shirts, I think it is a different operation. Not sure of that though, just the sense I got
ladycaveat Posted February 16, 2010 #43 Share Posted February 16, 2010 Jack's Shack sure sounds like the "in" place to go in GT bur I've been to every Margaritaville in the Caribbean . . . except GT. Never been to GT before but will be there in September. All I want to do in GT is have a margarita at Margaritaville and buy a tee shirt there to my collection. I know the drinks are more expensive and it's really a tourist trap. However . . . I love Jimmy's music (it's all I listen to a week or two before my cruises) and from what I've read about GT . . . there really isn't much else to do. manutdman Posted February 20, 2010 #44 Share Posted February 20, 2010 Right next to Jack's Shack is a dive shop that rents chairs & umbrellas. Cost is 5.00 for a chair & 10.00 for an umbrella.

hmooncruiser Posted February 22, 2010 #46 Share Posted February 22, 2010 islandnurse2006 - do y'all rent out bikes for use on the island, or do you know of a good place to get a couple bikes for the day? Tony's rental is booked up for March 22, so I'm desperately seeking an alternative. Thanks!

ellfin Posted February 27, 2010 #49 Share Posted February 27, 2010 We are going on the Caribean Princess May 9 sailing. Wondering if anyone knows of a) A place we can rent a hobie cat for a few hours or b) One of the tours that has a great Catamaran ride. I was in T and C 2 years ago at Club Med and the water is spectacular at that end. GT is 70 miles from where we were but I am still hoping to find stunning calm waters to sail and snorkel. See ya after at Jacks
musicgirl63 Posted February 28, 2010 #50 Share Posted February 28, 2010 I was checking out their facebook pics and noticed some aquaboats that looked like they were for rent.
