How Obstructed is "Obstructed" on the Majesty

Deck 9 is above the lifeboat covers and is obstructed looking straight down. Deck 8 is about where the lifeboats hang, allowing light and partial views, depending on cabin.

Deck 7, which the OP is apparently on, is the promenade deck. So (without knowing her cabin #), they will likely have people walking around outside their window. Keep those curtains closed! :o

If you don't like the idea of the people walking around outside, might the casino allow you to "down-grade" to OV on deck 6, 4 or otherwise? You'd still have a window; they wouldn't be out any extra money. Just something to think about.

Have a great cruise; the Majesty is wondeful!

Really? People outside our cabin? That will be a first.

We weren't even allowed to pay for an upgrade ourselves. We can't quite figure that one out.

I'm pretty sure the cruise is sold out. Maybe we can get something changed once we get to the pier. It's only a 4-night cruise. We can put up with just about anything for 4-nights and for FREE.

If they could change it for you that would be nice. Our TA moved us off from that deck once when we were about to book an OV on Majesty. This past July, we had to walk on deck 7 because even though they asked you not to, they decided to do cleaning and maintenance up on the track each morning about 7am when folks are normally walking. Our TA pointed out that a lot of walking happens on the Promenade. All that said, if I couldn't change it and it were free---I'd be there absolutely. Can't be that bad.

Just curious. We are in an Ocean View on Deck 7. I won the cruise at the Caesar's Casino in Indiana. For some reason, we weren't allowed to pay for an upgrade. We had to take what we were given.

Deck 7? Oh no. Look at this picture I attached.

Deck 7 is the lower row and Deck 8 is the upper row.

I booked my BIL and SIL on Deck 6. I'd stay away from 7 and 8. On 8 you have some OVs between life boats but there is a reason why its the lowest priced OV.

Sold out? Not at all. Lots of cabins available.

I am sure that your FREE cruise will be wonderful.

If you feel like it, ask at check-in. (ask for the pier coordinator after you get your SeaPass cards). Your cabin is an F1. See what s/he has available at the terminal.

You are likely not able to upgrade because your cabin price has no actual price attached - it is likely a token $1 cabin fare with special coding that says it is a prize winner. That being said, I also agree that if you are not happy with the cabin ask for a downgrade if possible. Then the changing of the cabin price should not be an issue. Good luck and let us know what happens. For curiosity, are the tips also included in the prize?

I don't really know. I'll check.

I was also wondering about the fuel charge.

There will have to be some value attached to the prize so Uncle Sam can collect his share. We know we'll be getting a W2G.

And deck 8 is absolutely perfect if the only reason you want an OV is so that you have natural light in your room :) There are some good rooms with decent views on 8, but yes, its cheaper then some insides..

I'm still amazed how much time you guys spend in your cabins on a CRUISE :D.

Prize does not include government taxes and fees, ground transportation to the port of embarkment, shore excursions, alcoholic beverages, soda, on board photos, gratuities, or items of a personal nature.

Nope. No gratuities. They are already trying to collect the fuel surcharge from us so that most likely isn't included, either. I think the cruise line threw in the ground transportation, though.
