cezovski Posted February 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2008 We are booked on the Dawn Princess in July going to Alaska. When I checked the cruise personalizer, one of the questions asked if we wanted robes in the room. I thought these only came with the suites? We have a standard balcony room. Can someone verify this? Colo Cruiser Posted February 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Yes, but even if you put it on request on the personalizer it may not be in the room so just ask "Stewart" for one. :D

paul929207 Posted February 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Ususally, there are no robes in the non-suite cabins. However, your cabin steward will be happy to bring one or two.
BJS Posted February 18, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2008 They may be in any type room - if not just ask and they will be provided. ,
Bucky3 Posted February 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2008 We are Elite on Princess and sometimes they are there and sometimes not. It may depend on how many were in use on the previous cruise - time for laundering and replacing. But as has been said just ask your room steward and he should get them for you. If it's for Alaska, ask for the heavier ones as some of them are very light weight - and it's cold up there!!
Tina G Posted February 18, 2008 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Unfortunately, one size does NOT fit all.:( If you are round and cuddley, bring a light one of your own.
cezovski Posted February 18, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Thanks to everyone for their answers on the robe question. I forgot to ask if the standard rooms have a CD player or anything similar in the rooms.
B40 Tha Cruisa Posted February 18, 2008 #10 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Thanks to everyone for their answers on the robe question. I forgot to ask if the standard rooms have a CD player or anything similar in the rooms. Im afraid there are no CD players in the rooms... It would be nice though! We usually bring our MP3 player with a small set of speakers for some easy listening in the room.

Dorset Cruiser Posted February 18, 2008 #13 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Thought it was all MP3 players now - they are ideal to take with a set of small portable speakers!
curlybelle Posted February 18, 2008 #14 Share Posted February 18, 2008 We received robes in our cabin without asking for them. Our steward had set them out for us the first morning. :) We also asked for fresh fruit and he refilled the basket all week.
awhcruiser Posted February 18, 2008 #15 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Who is "Stewart" :D Yes, but even if you put it on request on the personalizer it may not be in the room so just ask "Stewart" for one. :D
cezovski Posted February 19, 2008 Author #16 Share Posted February 19, 2008 I think "Stewart" is a a fun term for "steward" --- as in the room steward. I have an iPod, so the speakers are a good idea! Thanks everyone.
newmexicoNita Posted February 19, 2008 #17 Share Posted February 19, 2008 Unfortunately, one size does NOT fit all.:( If you are round and cuddley, bring a light one of your own.Iwas thinking the same thing; we have been on a few cruise lines where we have gotten th robes, HAL and Celebrity because we had CC class, but they hardly fit any gal over size 14 or 16 and any guy over 190 lbs. That is why it make little difference to me. Nita
gwenmarie Posted February 19, 2008 #18 Share Posted February 19, 2008 My DH and I are not the one size fits all body type. On our last Holland America cruise we requested a larger robe and we received one!So they do exist and I am not sure why the other cruise lines do not have them. We just recentlytried on Cunard and Celebrity with no luck.
