Hi Jeanne,:) I should have pictures posted soon. Maybe

one of these days I will find a small digital camera I feel

comfortable with......still using disposables and they

are at Walgreens. I will have the discs tomorrow.

I actually used up 3 cameras for this cruise!

Awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing your Galaxy cruise pics!!!:) :) :) Jeanne

Lois, thank you for the wonderful review. It's always so nice to read about the ship you are going to be sailing on next. We were also wondering about the noise from the deck above. We are in cabin 1218. Sorry you had to get off the ship but that just means its a little bit closer for me to get on.

Glad everyone enjoyed it.

I did fill out my comment card and added 2 pages of extra

stationary as well.

I gave very high marks to certain crew members and wanted

to make sure HQ knows about it.

I also wrote them about the slow dining room service on a couple

of evenings (also said the problem was resolved).

I commented on the inconsistant coffee and gave another

.02 for them to reduce the single supplement.

Oh, to top off everything when I returned to work I was informed

we had won BRANCH OF THE YEAR:) and I got 200.00:D

We have about 40 branches in 8 states so coming in #1 for

2007 is quite an accomplishment!!!

That money went into my CRUISE ACCOUNT!

When that rebate check comes in from Uncle Sam I might

even be able to do that Mercury Wine Cruise in October too.......

Hi Lois

Great review...thanks. You've done some comparisons with Mercury but how about rating Galaxy against (refurbished) Century?;)

BTW was the ship sold out? I know there are often last-minute sell-off cruise bargains available for residents of PR.

-Phil

Phil, I like the Cova in the center location, which is the way it

is set up on Century and Mercury. Galaxy it is starboard.

And of course Murano's on Century is fabulous:)

I would sail all 3 ships again though:D

Do Mercury and Galaxy have a "sunset bar" at the rear? I hung out there a lot on Century.;)

And any significant differences in cabin amenities?? Have to admit I liked the "hotel boutique chic" on Century with the raised basin and flat screen TV.

Phil, they have AFT areas..tables and chairs but neither

one has a bar outside.

The bar is inside~portside. I love sitting out there too.

Looking out over the water with a drink in hand.....ahhhhh.....:)

Cabins are the same size~I normally book insides...they

are about 175 sq feet and for me they are just fine:)

Lois , Great review! We are leaving on the March 28th sailing and also staying one night pre- and post-cruise at the Sheraton. How would you rate the hotel? Plenty to do around the area within walking distance? Also, can you recall how far a cab ride to the port?

We were on the Century (pre-refurbishment) 2 yrs ago and fell in love with Celebrity, and are hoping the Galaxy cruise will be just as memorable! Thanks again for the great review.

Oops, one more question! DO the Martini bar offer the same kind of "Martini Sampler" as they had on Century? I think it was like 6 or 8 very yummy (and strong) martinis!

Sheraton was very nice and it is in a wonderful location.:)

Yes, you can walk just about anywhere (except to the ship;) )

The cab ride to the pier with luggage cost me 20.00.

About 10-15 minutes I would say.

Yes, you can have the Martini Sampling....any night you

want:D

Tell Eduardo and Victoria hello from me and make sure

they call home....they can explain that one to you:)

Hi, Lois,

Thanks again for a great review and for answering so many different questions. We will be in San Juan in a week, waiting to board the Galaxy the following morning.

Your pictures are great... but would love to see a picture of your ring if you would like to share...it sounds gorgeous; what a nice thing to do for yourself!

Hopefully our paths will cross in the future... Larry and I would really enjoy sailing with you.

Have a good weekend... and thanks again. I will have to look into Boolchands while we are in Aruba.

I see lots of posters here who will be on the Galaxy with us; can't wait to get onboard; (especially since we are supposed to get between 6 and 8 inches of snow tomorrow!) Larry and I hope to meet up with many of you!

Hi Sue, I hope you have a wonderful time:)

I thought there were a couple of photos with the ring in them~

I think I still have photos I didn't post:eek:

The one thing I truely liked about the store was it was

more like a "type B" personality if you know what I mean.

No pressure from anyone, but really glad to help.

Not sure they would remember me but you could tell them

you have a friend who bought a sapphire band and she

is VERY HAPPY with her purchase:D. It was the only

piece that called my name;).

When you get off the ship....go across the street and I can't

recall how far down it was located but you won't have

a problem finding it. Its on the Main street.

Lois, my friend Mary and I thank you!! I will have to look at your pictures again... I was hoping for an "Up close and Personal" kind of picture! :D

I even have a photo on an icon on my desktop I want

to add to my site. I am really PC challenged because

I can't seem to add just one photo:confused:...without the

whole album.....geeezzz...

Have fun, you and Mary will find something lovely

I am sure:)

Thanks Lois

We were on the same cruise with our 2 teenage children in a Sky Suite with an inside for the kids. We had a wonderful time and will be booking future trips with Celebrity.

Galaxy looked great to us. The service was wonderful. Our waiter, stateroom attendant, butler etc were all great.

The food was generally good. There were a few items that didn't work but really, few complaints.
