Unless you are a "high-roller" plan on paying for your drinks! They have no incentive to try and entice you to gamble there--where else will you go? Don't bet more than you can afford, in hopes of a "free" $4.50 drink!

Drinks are not free, but found last week on our Mariner cruise that dealers have some discretion in comping drinks. It happened to me twice, with two different dealers on two different days. I was the only one placing bets for the dealer ($5 every half hour or so if I was winning), and twice the dealers said the drinks were on the casino. I wasn't playing big money with bets rarely over $10, and wasn't being rated, so it wasn't based on my level of play. I think it was just from being friendly, and making an effort to toke the dealers.

Don't know if this standard practice, but saved me $12 in drinks.
