mangomonkey Posted August 12, 2009 #76 Share Posted August 12, 2009 I had lots of yummy cocktails... The Long Island Iced Tea was fabulous. Passionfruit Cosmopolitan was not bad either. Right now, I'm craving... Pina Coladas!!
ShakyBeef Posted August 13, 2009 #77 Share Posted August 13, 2009 My absolute favourite (have only had it on Norwegian Pearl, but had SEVERAL) is the lychee sake-tini! Lychee liqueur and sake in a martini glass with a lychee (fruit) marinating in the bottom. :D So yummy. And strong. I wonder if Carnival has these?

wingsrn123 Posted August 16, 2009 #80 Share Posted August 16, 2009 I enjoy an icy cold beer, so my favorite thing to do is order a "local brew" or two on every island we go to.:)
wilts1954 Posted August 20, 2009 #81 Share Posted August 20, 2009 When Carol and I were on Independence in May, she loved the cocktail of the day when we arrived in Gibraltar called, appropriately enough, 'The Rocks (sic) of Gibraltar' - triple sec, peach schnapps, brandy, soda and a dash of coke!! Mind-numbing!! lol!! For me - Mojito's - either the classic or a Raspberry one!!:D:D:D:D
iahawkize Posted September 29, 2009 #82 Share Posted September 29, 2009 On the subject of onboard drinks. Has anyone ever had the bartender add a "floater" on to their drink? I was told once that it was an extra shot of booze put on top of a frozen drink so that basically you got a "double" for a little more than the price of one drink. mation101 Posted October 16, 2009 #83 Share Posted October 16, 2009 I'll take a double Gin & Tonic, hold the Tonic.. Thats exactly how I like my Gin & Tonic. Actually if you add the tonic it becomes a foo-foo drink. I pretty much stick to wine at night, but the first and last night of the cruise I get a JW Black Label on the rocks. I would do it every night, but I find with the red wine I drink at dinner my head is not so happy with the combo the next AM.
Traveling Mick Posted November 13, 2009 #84 Share Posted November 13, 2009 Usually go for the bucket of beer in the afternoon. Found last year the perfect drink on HAL's 2 for one Happy Hour: the Espresso Martini. one shot vanilla vodka; half shot kahlua; and half shot espresso liquer, plus three coffee beans to garnish representing Health, Wealth, & Happiness. Oh heaven (sigh). Just need to see if NCL can do that drink . . .
joand452 Posted November 13, 2009 #85 Share Posted November 13, 2009 On Princess, it's a Beverly Hills Iced Tea. On Royal Caribbean, it's a rum and diet coke. Maybe wine with dinner once in a while. Can't wait for March 30 to have my first BHIT in 3 years!
Daddysbaby Posted November 24, 2009 #86 Share Posted November 24, 2009 Daytime drink - Frozen slushy Lime Margarita Dinner time drink - Red Wine Night time drink - Blueberry Tea (as this is a Canadian drink I have to train the bartenders on every cruise!!) And regarding "floaters" - sometimes Princess offers an extra shot with the Margarita - they float a shot of Grand Marnier over top - Yum!
lalabee79 Posted December 1, 2009 #87 Share Posted December 1, 2009 Miami Vice...mmmmm.:D My favorite "sitting on a deck chair relaxing in the sun" drink. MMMM. Can't wait til next week!!!! Apple-tinis never fail. I'm so curious about this "Kiss on the Lips". Does anyone have any recommendations for the Norwegian Pearl? I saw the prior recommendation for the sake drink. yum yum! Norwaylin Posted December 5, 2009 #89 Share Posted December 5, 2009 Although I don't drink much at home (very little), I tried a Yellow Bird on my first cruise on the SS Norway in 1983. Since then, that has been my "drink of choice." I have ordered other drinks ("Drink of the Day"), but prefer my Yellow Bird. I have made them at home a few times, but the ambiance is not the same. LOL. Wish I could book a cruise soon.
toxicfairy Posted December 18, 2009 #90 Share Posted December 18, 2009 In the mornings a BBC sitting in the sun! In the evenings pretty much what I would drink at home: martinis. OMG! I don't drink often or much, but when we were on the Freedom 3 years ago I got a BBC and LOVED it!! I have never heard any one else talk about them and was starting to think I made it up in my head
algorithmannie Posted January 23, 2010 #91 Share Posted January 23, 2010 In the Liberty of the Seas Champaign Bar they have a Sunset Bellini. It's wonderful! Champaign, Orange Juice, Grenadine, and maybe some other things? Really yummy!
boozencruisen Posted February 4, 2010 #92 Share Posted February 4, 2010 Found my new favorite drink on HAL a little over a year ago, the Weng Weng: 3/4 oz Vodka 3/4 oz Tequila 3/4 oz Brandy 3/4 oz Bourbon 3/4 oz Scotch Whiskey 3/4 oz Rum cubes (Fill to Top) Ice 1 oz (Fill With) Orange Juice 1 oz (Fill With) Pine Apple Juice dash Grenadine Apparently they had taken it off of the drink menu because too many passengers were ordering it and getting trashed because despite all the liquor it just tastes like fruit juice. The crew members were still buying it and since I usually talk with them at the bars they "convinced" me to start drinking them... Now I just have to hope that the other cruise line's bartenders know how to make it, and charge the same for it as a rum & coke like they did on HAL.
