daisy7889 Posted April 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2008 Does anyone know if they ever serve king crab on the Alaska cruises on the Mercury? Or maybe Lobster? :)

rjg41 Posted April 22, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2008 ......but most of the king crab you buy in the store does not come from Alaska. How about Russia, China, Japan, Finland etc. Most true Alaskan king crab is red not pink. Go look in a fish store in Alaska.
shofer Posted April 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2008 I was so disappointed on our Alaska cruise that king crab was not on the menu. The only time we have seen crab legs on the menu was on Princess and that was any itinerary, not just Alaska. I think Celebrity should add it their menus. Putterdude Posted April 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2008 I agree, I have not seen King crab. However there is lobster but is the kind that is farmed in places like Mexico.
flagger Posted April 23, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2008 The King Crab I saw at Kroger today had little "As Seen on TV" stickers on the boxes. I guess because of Deadliest Catch. Lobster is frozen on the ships and is merely the tails anyway. I don't understand why it is that big of a deal.
Sprucetree Posted April 23, 2008 #7 Share Posted April 23, 2008 On our 2006 Mercury cruise to Alaska, they served lobster. Every one at our table requested, and received, a second serving. I don't think our waiter was very pleased about it, but none the less, we all enjoyed two serivings of lobsters.
