Hey Bob, my DW of 20 years was raised there but she was only three when Mami and Papi too her off the island so not many memories. Can't beat Cuban night at the in-laws though with a café Cubano after dessert

We're going to have to meet on a dam ship one of these days!;)

Ahoy!

DW left at age 8 with family with just their clothes on their back. Ended up in New Jersey of all places (only kidding).

She's an Italian gal actually that can chatter away in Espanol. Prior family gatherings are always entertaining (I always had ear protection available).

Just noticed your 'jarhead' signature. Former decrepit corpsman here.

Be well.

Bon Voyage & Good Health!

Bob:)

You haven't lived until you've been to a Dutch/Cuban/US/Scottish wedding reception!

They won't always admit it but Jarheads love their Corpsmen!

I love the chocolate tulips as well, and could eat many of the dishes that have been mentioned. I also love the times there are dishes from the Philippines at the Asian bar on the Lido, such as pancit bihon. I also like fresh berries on my ice cream, or just by themselves.

But, aside from the obvious lobster or crab at every lunch and dinner (OP did say to be reasonable :D ), here are some things I would enjoy that I don't see often:

1. Smoked fish again on the Lido lunch (or even breakfast) line. Yes, they have salmon/lachs, but I'm a native Northwest boy who had salmon more often than chicken while growing up, and would like some of the smoked other fish that HAL has had in the past.

2. Pates and/or terrines. They have them rarely, but the HAL chefs do them well, and I would always take them when they were on offer.

3. That wonderful Dutch macaroni and cheese with very flavorful ham that they used to serve. I've not seen it now for several cruises.

4. Some steamed shrimp with Old Bay on the salad bar. Probably some people would pile up their plates, and it may be messy, but I find a few peel and eat shrimp with a green salad to be a great lunch, (and low fat/good for you/all the other things I rarely think about on cruise!)

5. Many others come to mind, but I would be happy with those.

Dave

Would love to see Iceberg Lettuce at the salad station at lunch time once in a while.
While I might not eat iceberg lettuce, I certainly don't have a problem with it being available on occasion for those who would like it. :D
