Will be there on cruise, and would like to visit the casion. Some places say you need Jacket and Tie plus 10 Euros to get in. Other places say only 45 Min. stay allowed. Any body got the low down?

We were there this past summer. You need ID passport and 10 euro my husband did not go in we had our son who is 12. We only stayed for 30 min but that's because we had to catch the train back to Cannes. I won 82 euro on the slots.

There are two casinos right next to each other...there's the famous Grand Casino which is 10 Euro to get in and requires a jacket and the other one which is alot more casual. No dress code, no entrance fee, I don't even remember showing my passport actually. I won 100 Euro at the latter. I don't care which one I won it in, I can say I won in Monte Carlo :)

We were there in November.

 

During the day the dress code is much more casual than at night. None of the people we were with had on jackets or ties and they went in. They were not in shorts however.... but slacks and shirts.

 

Our tour guide provided coupons for the entry fee.....and yes a passport was requested to get in.

 

We opted not to go in..... instead sitting outside at the Cafe de Paris and people watched.....lots more fun as I just would have lost more $$ anyway :( :D

When my family and I were there the line was so long we couldn't even make it in the door. We went into the casino next door and it was way to smokey for us! We did have a gelato at the stand right outside of it which was wonderful!

I have read that any photo ID, such as a drivers license, will work. Is that true or should we bring our passports with us?
