Platinum Perks

Recommended Posts

My hubby and I will be sailing 6/20/08 Rhapsody and have just moved to the Platinum level. Can anyone tell us the perks...heard about bathrobes and a special waiting area for embarkation, curious what else there is.

Just got back from our first cruise since becoming platinum. Priority embarkation didn't make a difference (no lines), loved the additional onboard event (free drinks and a lovely 30 minute recital), and the debarkation lounge was a real plus!!!

I just got back from the Sovereign and we did get hats, bathrobes, and the coupon book. In the coupon book what I remember, is a 7.50 credit for internet use and for three books that added up. A free drink = soda, drink, bottled water. I used one for photos = buy one get one same size free and since they were 19.95 each that was about 10 bucks each when I got the two. There was one for 2 free dollars if you buy/spend 10 bucks in the casino. I though you had to buy 10 dollars worth but I handed her the coupon and got 2 bucks and with three coupon books that was six bucks. There were some for the spa, another one for the casino - I guess the tables, and that is about all I remember but there seems to have been a few more but we didn't use them all. The greatest perk is the priority embarking and early debarking.

I am now Platinium as of my last cruise on the Mariner and can not wait to go this December. My question is I am platinium and husband is gold. I think he will automatically become Platinium as well? Is this correct? Would be nice to get 2 coupon books. Thanks

You are right, everyone in the same household moves up together. He is now platinum and has all the same benefits, including his own coupon book.

That is the good/bad thing about Crown & Anchor.

Good ~ Your spouse sho lives at the same address as you will get the same status as you... or vice versa depending on who has the higher status.

Bad (in my opinion) ~ Anybody else who uses your address as long as they have cruised at least once will also be bumped to the highest status in the household. I think this should be revised by RCI before there are too many Diamond cruisers who may only have one or two cruises themselves. As long as it is allowed, there are people who will take advantage of it.

Strange policy, would have to agree on that. Shouldn't it only work though if the actual Diamond cruiser is sailing with the non-Diamond member?

I am embarking on my fifth cruise later this summer. Anyone out there been elevated to Platinum for the fifth cruise, and not only as the rules seem to imply the sixth? Was wondering if I could get my hopes up of some extra perks this time...

We just got off the Soverign this weekend and out booklet was a little different then the previous poster... we got FREE photo - any size - we got 2 free so that was a $40 gift. We got 2 FREE drinks, 2 FREE trips to Johnny Rockets, casino credits for their 'special' slot (6 total). 2 FREE coupons for coffee. 2 FREE coupons for free ice cream bar at Ben/Jerry's. We thought this was a great perk, we haven't been on RCCL in awhile, normally sail on Celebrity so this was the first time we were given all the extra perks, they add up. There were a lot of other coupons in the book we didn't use so you do get some nice perks with the Diamond/Diamond plus level.

The best thing to do is mention to the RCCL agents that you are Platinum

Yes, if you sailed in a JS or above and/or sailed for 12 nights you get extra credits. E.g., 4 cruises in a JS = 8 credits.
