Anyone win over $1000 on slots?

Just curious if anyone has one $1K or more on the slots in a Princess casino. My favorite are slots and roulette (the worst odds ever in the casino). Knock on wood, I've been very, very lucky in Vegas on both every trip we take there. I'm wondering if my luck will stick with me on the cruise.

The odds are against you.

It wasn't the "winners" who build Las Vegas.... ;)

On our CB cruise one woman won $9K on a 5.00 slot. ;)

I did it once on a Wheel of Fortune machine. (got the cash and a Winner's T-shirt) However, let me assure you, I've lost way more than that over the course of all my cruises. I'm no where near breaking even. ;)

Over a thousand at one time? Yep, but only once on the Grand Princess. Hit a Royal on a progressive quarter slot for $1800. Heres a pic which I took at the time so I could remember, as I would sure it probably would never happen again. LOL

I watched a documentary on cruising a few years ago & the rep from the cruise company....sorry don't remember which one...stated that because they want your cruise experience to be wonderful & memorable...they loosen up the slots so people can win & be happy.....well....it doesn't work for me...my cruises are always wonderful & memorable...but my pocket book does not fill up in the casino on the slots.

My brother in law plays craps & holy cow does he win. About 90% of the time he leaves the casino with more $$ (& sometimes a lot more) than he goes in with. He is amazing...well pretty lucky too...cause he won me as his sister in law....:p

We certainly enjoyed the slots on the CB and had some nice wins, but nothing over $1,000 in a single jackpot. Just remember that you are not supposed to win money in casinos...you are just supposed to enjoy your time playing. The longer you play the more likely you are to lose...over time the odds are with the house.

I think we are able to enjoy the casinos because we never expect to win...so we are never dissappointed! We just hope to have fun with the money we have budgeted to lose. It's entertainment expense to us, just like enjoying a nice dinner out or seeing a concert or a play.

Have fun and good luck!

Close but no cigar. I won $500.00 on a 5 cent Leprachan Gold (sp??) and $600 on 5 cent Big Tipper machine on the same cruise different nights (caribbean princess in may). I played ALOT and I thought that my money went pretty far. You will be able to play for a while even if you dont hit a jackpot.

I think the best slots though are on NCL, won $1600 and $800 on a wheel of fortune $1 machine. And I actually took that home because I won it on the last evening.

I won 980 on my last trip on a dollar slot... but usually that is not the case. I find the slots to be pretty tight over all - still I can't seem from tossing a twenty or two in every now and then.

I bring my gambling money and some how, in most cases, the ship ends up with it all. Except in the 980 case ( I kept every nickle of that for my next cruise fare:D )

My BIL won 1062 on a dollar machine last month on CB. We won 480 on a $5 machine in one spin. BIL had to fill out IRS form, that darn 62 dollars put him over the nondeclare limit :(

on Carnival we won 5000 on the Black and White Double Jackpot machine and then hit a nickle machine for 11000 nickles in a bonus game, all on the last night of our honeymoon :)

Yes I did on the star, and it was such a fluke. It was the very last night, the casino was deserted, everyone was in bed. I had won 220.00 on a dollar machine, so I pocketed the 200.00 and decided to put the 20 into a quarter machine on the way out of the casino heading for bed.

On the very first pull I hit Red 7, bonus symbol, bonus symbol... it paid 25 times the Red 7 which was 180 coins... so 4500 coins. I was so excited and all alone! there was no one around, even attendants and I sat there and listened to the bells :)

It worked out to $1125.00 plus my remaining 19.25 that I started out with. I went to bed with a big smile on my face and left the ship in Rome with a pocketfull of cash!

That's funny. That is exactly what happens to me every time we go to Vegas. All of my big hits have been when I was by myself. Once I even told my husband he had to stand by me while I put $100 in the $5 machine. About 2 pulls into it he said I have to run to the bathroom, keep going, I'll be right back. The bathroom was about twenty steps away, I could see it from my machine. I waited a few seconds and started again. Two pulls later I won $1800 and all the bells and whistles were going. My husband said he heard them as he was coming out of the bathroom. Once again, he didn't see me win. Now I send him away for luck!

PLEASE write a review of your cruise! We are going on the Canada/New England on October 5th. Have fun!

My gambling story. We were on the Star, Valparaiso to Seattle in April.I don't gamble, but my wife really enjoys it, and most evenings likes to go to the casino. She plays the slots, but very conservatively. She likes The 1 cent machines, but plays a whole 20 cents!!! per spin. Usually sets herself a limit of $20, expects to lose it,but is happy if her stake lasts a while.

This night was formal night, we had had dinner, and were in the casino, where she was at her 1 cent machines, and I was at the bar having a drink. I was in my tuxedo, and like all men when dressed in a tuxedo feeling very "James Bondish". Having had a pre dinner martini, wine with dinner, and now an after dinner drink, the stage was set for me to do something not too bright.

As it was relatively early, about 8:30, the casino was not very crowded, and 1 roulette table was empty. It was time for 'James Bond' to act. I went up to the pit boss, told him I wanted to make a single bet of $1000 on black, but I didn't have cash, wanted to do it on my card. He called over the casino manager, they called the pursers desk, and after some discussion I signed a chit, and was given 10 $100 chips.

The pit boss then informed me the table limit was $500. Had I known I would only have asked for $500, as I was only interested in the one bet, not doing any ongoing gambling.

I placed $500 in chips on black, by now a small crowd had gathered, including a number of staff, and the pit boss said to me "Sir no matter what happens, I will buy you a drink."

The roulette operator spun the wheel, dropped the ball, and BLACK!!

I didn't blink, scooped up the $1000 in chips, went to the cashier, got cash, came back, tipped the operator $100 and tipped the pit boss $100, and both were completely floored.

This was playing out exactly as it would for James Bond, as we all know he never loses., and I was really revelling in the moment. The pit boss then said "Sir, I will buy you that drink now." ..I said fine, I'll have a scotch and soda, and how about one for my wife. He said certainly, where is she?

"She's over there, at the penny slots."

So much for my charade-that really blew my cover.:D

As a post script to this story, the next day I did overhear people talking about some "high roller" who had been in the casino the previous night. As is usual with stories like that, the specifics had grown in the retelling, and was being made out as the mysterious player had won incredible amount on a single bet- in the thousands!!!

I have hit a jackpot over $1,000 on every cruise line except Princess. I felt Princess was the tightest of all lines on slots, but it also could have just been timing and bad luck, but I have heard from several others they couldn't do anything on Princess either. Our local casino sends the big spenders every year on a Princess cruise, and they all say Princess casinos seem to be the tightest. I won $2,400 on a quarter slot on Celebrity once too.

Closest I got was $800.00. That was the catlsyt in helping us to meet a couple who has since become good friends of ours. When I cashed out, there were no cups around to put the coings in. No attendant was responding to my request for service, either. So they got me a coin cup; we chatted; now we are great friends. And I shared my winnings with them at the bar. Since then, we have cruised the extra money away very, very easily and quickly.

I love that story. It's so much fun to live out our fantasies every once in a while. Nice going on the tips. I'm sure that made their day.:)
