want to do a day trip from rome to naples on train in late oct 2008. thinking of doing HOHO in naples for just a fun day:p away from rome. your thoughts and ideas welcome:rolleyes:

The things to see in the Naples area are Pompei, Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast and the Isle of Capri. I don't think you can do all in one day.

Yes, Naples wouldn't be my choice for a day trip. And getting to Sorrento or Capri and then back to Naples and back to Rome would be exhausting. How about heading North from Rome? You'll get much more info on the Europe board.

watch your belongings in Naples. Alot of crime. Be weary of "staged" street shows. Don't wear your jewelry
