Laundry Rooms on Statendam

From what I have read on past threads, most floors on the Statendam have a laundry room equiped with irons, etc.

How many machines are found in each laundry room?

I assume they are open all night? I am also assuming the have soaps you can purchase? What kind of fee or change will I need?

does anyone bring their own soap to use? I try to stay away from perfumed clothes soap because of skin allergies. Do they carry non scented soap?

I haven't been in all the laundry rooms ... and I'm trying to remember if there are 3 machine or 4 machines in the ones I have been in. Four I think. Some ships charge $2 for the washer, and the dryer is free, and on some the dryer is $1. But I don't remember which way the Statendam is. :o You'll need quarters, obtainable from the front desk or casino. You should NOT bring your own detergent, as they require a special low-sudsing bio-degradable type, dispensed by pushing a button on the machine, so that's included in the $2.

Above information is correct - 4 washers and 4 dryers.

I can't remember which ship it is Ryndam or Statendam where you actually have to use their cup and fill it from the dispenser to place the soap into the washer.

I always take my own dryer sheets along.

On some ships they are no open all night. Some don't open until 7 AM. Can't remember the closing time. There is a sign on the door.

I have used the laundry twice; Statendam and Amsterdam. I do not remember a cup; just pushing a button to dispense their soap. Also I do not think it was scented soap. I never had trouble getting a machine and on the Statendam I stayed in the laundry room but on the Amsterdam I went back to my room for the timed period. We were on a floor with the laundry both times. common courtesy, of course, is to not let the clothes stay there after they finish their cleaning.

They do not have a laundry on every deck. I think there are three on the "S" class ships. I know there is one on Veranda Deck, Main Deck and maybe "A" Deck. Navigation Deck does not have a Lauderette and maybe none on Lowel Promenade. On Maasdam, they are not open 24/7. There are cabins nearby so there could be noise issues if people were coming and going using the machines at very late/eary hours.

The laundry room on the Verandah deck of the Statendam has 4 stacked washers & dryers, if I remember right the washers were either $1.50 or $2, and the dryer was $1 but I usually needed to run it twice.

The soap dispenses directly into the washer, no cups. You just press a button.

If I remember right it's open from 8am to 10pm. There's usually no one there late afternoon/evening, but it's busy in the AM.

What about the Oosterdam are there laundry rooms as well. Also do they offer a laundry (all you can get in a bag) service like they do on some other cruise lines during the week?

Thanks,

Marcy

No self-service laundries on Vistas or Eurodam. All have the $12 all-you-can-stuff bag.

Thank you Krazy Kruisers that is very good to know.

I would have had some clothes that should not be washed in Hot water. So you saved me there.

May just have to wash them by hand and hang in bathroom to dry (and good luck to me on that, seems they take so long to dry).

Again thanks so much. ;)

Glad mentioned that as I know some people don't realize that the ships don't have the time to do special requests.

Just keep in mind that everything is washed in HOT water and dryer on high heat.

No special orders.

So be careful of what you send out to be washed.

Are you saying the BAG wash service is hot water only... or the self service washers are HOT only??
