gurantee room

I have never had a problem doing it, but your milage may vary. If you absolutely need to have a room in a specific area (near elevator, mid-ship, etc) then don't do it. Odds are you will receive exactly what you pay for, and you could end up with rooms that are far forward or far aft.

We liked both cabins we got with a guarantee, but everyone might not have liked them. One was far enough aft we got the vibration from the thrusters. The other was a OV on deck 2 on Voyager and we found it a bit of a nuisance that we were not allowed to go thru to the aft from our cabin in the foward part because it was under the ice rink. We ate on deck 3 which also didnt go thru, so it was up the elevators and across another deck, then another elevator down. If you can do stairs things like this might not even bother you.

What might bother one person, might bother you. Both rooms were quiet otherwise.

Bob's got it right. You may have a cabin anywhere on the ship with a minimum guarantee of the cabin category. We've done a number of guarantees on different lines and have always had good luck.

If you have a reason for not wanting a specific location and it would really take away from your cruise then I would avoid doing a guarantee.

If you can go with the flow a guarantee may be for you.
