Parties

Is there parties in all cruises or in some cases, only formal nights? What kind of parties have you ever taken part in? Using fancy dresses or not? And can you buy, before departing, a birthday cake for someone of your group that will have her birthday in the ship or, the right way is to buy the cake when your are already on board?

No costume party? Nothing? I thought there were costume parties on every cruise.:(

We've never seen any "costume" parties---and the Captain's Reception or Welcome Back party--(usually on formal evenings)....well, we go to them, but folks tend to stay in their own little groups, for the most part--not alot of "mingling" going on!

Truly, I would imagine that it will depend on the cruiseline--not all do the same things!

Different cruise lines offer different types of "parties". As for the birthday cake, check with your cruise company, I know Carnival and Costa will both do something for you.
