yorky Posted November 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Hi guys. We could change our dates for our next cruise on the Sea Princess and save some dosh. The thing is the insides on offer are on deck 11 Alaha and below the Riviera sun deck and pools. Has anyone had a cabin below this area and had problems with noise. Cheers
Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted November 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2008 We have had inside cabins below the swimming pool on several cruises. We've always been very lucky; unless there was an Island Night-type party going on right above us, it's been a very quiet area. If you think about it, you're not really below the lounge chairs as much as you are below that apron around the pool, so there is much less chance of hearing chairs being dragged across the deck above. The pool and the water is actually right next to your cabin, and that is very sound absorbing. However (and this is big), there are always one or two cabins in that area that are located adjacent to the pool equipment, such as the pump that runs the filter. Just walking down the hallway, you can hear this equipment running. So to answer your question most effectively, someone who knows exactly where that equipment is on the Sea Princess would have to tell you which cabins are affected. Or you can do what we've done, take your chances and you'll probably be fine.

yorky Posted November 13, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Thanks for the reply, I should probably explain that we would be on a guarantee so could have any inside on that category. They are all midships bit below the whole Riviera deck so could just as easy be in an area for sun-beds. I just wondered what time they started to move them in the morning.
