problem with HAL fitting us all 11 people at 1 table

Make sure all of your reservations are "linked"--I'm betting that they WILL seat you together! If, for some reason, they can't, then they will have you at 2 tables next to each other. If you want, shove the tables closer together---they'll get the picture!

Having 1 group together is NOT an unreasonable request.

IMHO, that's encouraging inconsiderate, even possibly dangerous, behaviour. If the tables get "shoved" together, that makes it harder for the waiters, and possibly dangerous for them. Not to mention the effect that moving tables would have on adjoining tables. The table of 11 will not be the only table in the dining room -- why should any group have the right to disrupt or inconvenience other diners by moving their tables?

Unless some of your 11 are small children, you really do not want to shove all 11 of you at one table. You won't be able to pull your chairs up to the table, you're going to be shoulder to shoulder and unable to move, not to mention the mess with all the tableware. The only tables for 12 I've seen is the Captain's table. All other tables are 10 or less.
