CruiseFlee Posted December 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 18, 2008 Although we live in the Pacific Northwest, we have never done an Alaska cruise. We're thinking about taking the Mercury out of Vancouver and we like being in the bow of the ship. Will this be an OK spot for an Alaska cruise? Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted December 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2008 Sure, if you don't mind humpback whales breaching right in front of you. That's what we were treated to on our Alaska cruise. I'm not familiar with cabins in the bow, but you will certainly have more motion there. I don't know how it is sailing out of Vancouver, but when we sailed out of Seattle, we had a lot of rocking and rolling the first night and the next day and night until we got into the inside passage. Have a wonderful cruise!
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2008 If you prefer the bow of the ship then you'll be fine on an Alaska cruise. Personally we prefer the middle of the ship and second choice would be the aft and for us the bow would be last on any cruise since it feels the motion the most. But, since you seem fine with it, there is no reason why you should not select it on an Alaska cruise. Keith
