Secret discoveries in your room

I think I woudl have given it to the head steward and told him this was left from a previous passenger. He needs to know that his people are not doing their job.

One of our cruises on the Explorer, we found sex toys in the nightstand on our first day as I was putting my stuff away - yukko - again, steward NOT doing his job!

Guess we've been lucky: no leftover tubes of gel, sex toys, underwear or grimy sandals. We did find a few Trinadian dollars in the safe on our last cruise. Our stop there, though, was cancelled. I think we just left them there for the next person.

On our last cruise, I was trying to go without my one and only vice--coca-cola. After a few days, I was really missing it and there in the top corner of the closet was a perfect can of my favorite beverage!:D

Bless the person who left that! Although, finding jewelry or money would have been nice too.

I left 2 paperbacks for the next guest or the room steward--whoever got to them first.

We got a bottle of wine at our Meet'n'Greet and put it in the fridge in our cabin only to forget about it and leave it there. I hope someone got to enjoy it!

Dave,

You missed a good bottle of wine! By the way, we really enjoyed ours!

On the Adventure last year some of our friends found a very large bra that had fallen in back of the drawer when it was pulled all the way out. When I say large, I mean HUGE!!!! We had great fun all week hanging this enormous bra on our doorknobs to our cabin. We were traveling with friends and had 4 rooms in a row. Our cabin steward had a great sense of humor because I think initially he thought this bra belonged to someone in our group. I certainly don't mean to offend anyone that is big breasted, but for some reason we found this extremely hilarious!

The only thing that we have found on our cruises was a brand new pair of mens dress pants still folded in the closet. We gave them to our room steward to take care of. We have left a couple of things on the ship when we got off though.

When cruising HAL-check the Bible. My daughter found a soda card with 14 sodas left-on HAL you pay $30 for 20 sodas. When we debarked she still had 5 sodas left-so back into the Bible it went-along with my coffee card-I had 2 coffees left.

How did my daughter know to check? From posts on the HAL board-many had posted they did that when they did not use up their cards.

After reading these I don't know whether to be grossed out or check my cabin over thoroughly.

I will be bringing Lysol and Clorox Wipes on my next cruise. And now I am going to throw in some disposable gloves as I use the Lysol and wipes.

I will check safe and Bible for any treasures left behind.

All that being said I have always thought it would be fun to leave a note somewhere for the next people in the cabin.

What about half a treasure map?:D Or a kidnapping note written in crayon demanding 2 dozen chocolate chip cookies for the safe return of Jimmy Hoffa?

ha ha ha Not that is funny! I was thinking more along the lines of I took care of the cabin, enjoy your cruise. But your ideas are way better. LOL

What interesting finds - some little gifts left (intentionally or unintentionally) behind by other cruisers, others kinda gross. Either way, I was thinking about that myself - making it something fun to find! I wonder what the crew does with these random things people leave behind?

I always leave a token message....kinda like carving your name on a tree trunk...or a note in a bottle. Here's a few:

I place a flag sticker (I'm Canadian) with my name and cruise date on it on the under-side of a dresser drawer.

I sign and date a 5 dollar bill and tuck it under a carpet somewhere...and also slide one into that coin machine in the casino..(the one that slides coins over the edge)

I sign and date my business card and place it underneath between the frame and cushion of a dining room chair.

Always did it...all over the world, always will.

I guess I just have a little kid in me that wants to leave his mark. Nothing malicious...just curious to see what if anything may come of it.

In case your wondering...no responses. But I'm sure it gets a smile that I never get to see.

DW found used condom  between the bed and nightstand, steward promptly took care of it. We also asked that all bedding be changed.

We now always bring disinfecting wipes and clean all common contact areas.

Was 2nd and last cruise on Princess.
