AHD322 Posted January 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2009 DH and I would like to take the Norwegian Jewel 10 day New England/Canada cruise this year. I work in accounting and can not be away for 10 days, starting the 10th of the month. We have to choose between the September 30 or October 20. Which would you choose and why? LAURAMC Posted January 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2009 choose september. By october it is chilly here in Rhode Island and it is past the peak season for leaves.
138east Posted January 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2009 Absolutely. Go on the earlier date. There may be no leaves in the more northern ports by Oct. 20.
AHD322 Posted January 20, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted January 20, 2009 I've been leaning toward the 9/25 date. This will be our first time out of New York and the late October weather is a concern for me. Being born and raised in Texas....I put a sweater on if it's in the 60's. But, I didn't want to miss the best time of year for this cruise. I stayed warm enough in Alaska, it's all about the layers! Thanks again!
Jan_In_Maine Posted January 20, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2009 I'd do the end of September too. October (sometimes) seems to be rainy (although statistics does not always show it) and I've seen it start snowing in late October. Enjoy your cruise. I agree with you, Lauramc and others...It looks like September 30 will be the peak season heading north. We're on that same cruise and looking forward to it.
