QUIET?: Normally quiet but a couple mornings around 6 we heard them moving chairs above but only for few minutes.

BALCONY SIZE: Standard. Two chairs with foot stools, and round table was large enough for meals

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 9211

DECK #: 9

CLASS: 1A Verandah

AREA: Midship

BED NEAR: Bathroom

QUIET?: Very quiet. Sensor activated access door to games room very close but never heard any noise from either the door or the games room. The door worked brilliantly to block out any noise from the interior of the ship.

BALCONY VIEW: Cabin is third angled one from the start of the hump which allowed for excellent views forwards and outwards however could not see the rear of the ship. We did not consider that a problem.

BALCONY SIZE: Larger than the verandah cabins on the straight part of the ship. Two chairs and round table was large enough for meals.

WIND A PROBLEM?: No.

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We loved this cabin and would definitely book it again. Excellent location very close to the centre set of elevators. Extremely quiet. Having the games room close by was actually quite good fun as we spent a couple of hours here and there playing on the touch screen table games. There is a storage room just outside for the room steward but it was never a concern. A couple of times a bag of clean laundry was left outside the storeroom door but it had no impact on our stay.

docmark, you need to scroll through the spreadsheet located on page one of this thread.

This is taken from the spreadsheet.

Solstice 1611 11 PS Port King size against aft wall of bedroom. Quiet. On balcony could sometimes hear soft music from pool deck. No noise from overhead. At night there was the occasional door slamming. On the hump, views forward and back. Top of the right branch of Big X. The X did not impede view. Oversized, about the length of 5 double sliding doors. It has a jacuzzi on balcony Not enough! No wind problems. No Awesome cabin with 2 bathrooms. Master bathroom itself is probably the size of 2 regular staterooms. Best shower head (double) I have ever used! Great location close to mid elevators (no noise though).

SHIP: Equinox

Cabin# 9299

Class S1 Corner Aft

Balcony view Excellent aft view good port side view

Balcony size. Nice size. Was expecting it to be larger than it was

Some soot but not a problem

Very quiet

Wind not a problem

We liked this sky suite and would book again. There is a separate door at the end of the hallway that leads to this canin as well as one other. This door requires a key card as well as the cabin door. We enjoyed having a large porthole window for the extra view it afforded as well as the additional light. There are two poles in this suite-one on the right hand side of the bed (closest to the balcony) and another very near the bathroom door. They were not a problem. This suite has less storage than other aft facing sky suites. Only one area for hanging clothes as opposed to two.

Sorry for the dumb ?, but I can't find the spreadsheet mentioned. We haven't sailed S class only the M class and was curious if Concierge C2 cabins have bed or vanity near balcony doors. Eclipse specifically thanks

On page 1 of this thread, in the very first post are the words Google Spreadsheet.

It's fairly regularly updated.

Thanks! My problem in finding was that my thread is set to display most recent post first. The first post you referred to was therefore on the LAST page of the thread. Once I went there I found it by scrolling to the bottom

SHIP: Reflection

CABIN #: 1634

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Concierge

AREA: Just behind the mid-ship elevators and stairs

BED NEAR: Balcony Doors

QUIET?: Yes, we did not hear any extra noises at all except for when we arrived in port and they were moving equipment on the dock

BALCONY VIEW: Great View Aft, you have to lean out to see forward

BALCONY SIZE: Big this is on the end of the "hump"

WIND A PROBLEM?: Not at all as the more forward balcony shields you in a sense

SOOT A PROBLEM?: Did get a little bit of diesel odor on a rougher day at sea if we were on the balcony or had the door open.

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: No power outlet on headboard side of the room.

(pardon the mess in the pics, I didn't know I was going to share it when I took it, lol)

Looking at your photos, I don't see any sun. Was it covered from above? Or was it just the time of day that the whole side of the ship was in shade? Thanks for your help :-)

Ship: Eclipse

Cabin: 1084

Deck: 10

Area: Midship

Bed: A very nice cabin layout

Quiet: No

Inside Cabin: Yes

Problems/Comments: This Cabin is very noisy in the middle of the night. From previous comments it sounded as though the problem was from the Crew Only door next to this Cabin. We checked on arrival and found inside the Crew Only door old blankets and pillows, not a problem. For 3 nights we suffered intense noise which usually started around 4am, there was, what sounded like gushing water followed by objects being thrown around. On further investigation we found out what the nosie was.

From the Deck plan Cabin 1084 looks like it is the end Cabin with nothing on the other side, however, you enter 1084 from the port-side and if you go on to the starboard side you see a room called the "Dirty Room", this room is where the noise comes from, the Crew are washing the fruit and crates using a massive power washer and then throwing/stacking them. The sink in this room butts up the Cabin wall and therefore makes the Cabin un-believably nosiy therefore you are awakened every night and subjected to severe noise. We were moved after 3 nights.

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #: 8107

DECK #: 8

CLASS: FV

AREA: Forward

BED NEAR: Living room - cabin has 2 bedrooms

QUIET?: Not in the morning. Yes, other times.

BALCONY VIEW: Yes

BALCONY SIZE: Large

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

On the Solstice class ships cabin 8107 is a Family Veranda (FV) Stateroom. It is located on deck 8 at the very front of the ship on the port side. The sister cabin on the starboard side is 8108. There are 2 more Family Veranda staterooms on Deck 7 (7107 and 7108). The cabin is very large at 574 sq. ft. with a large 105 sq ft veranda. It should be noted that cabins 7107 and 7108 have a much smaller veranda at 53 sq ft. If you look at the photos you can see 2 kids on the veranda on deck 7 below and it will show how much smaller the FV veranda is on deck 7. FYI – on the Millennium class ships the Family Veranda cabins are at the very back of the ship and the layout is different.

When we booked this cabin we were told that Celebrity will typically restrict the sale of this cabin to parties of 3 or more travelers and they would prefer to have 4 or 5 people. As they get closer to final payment date they will consider selling the cabin to 2 travelers. (your experiences may vary)

Our first impression of the cabin was that it is huge. When you first walk in there is a separate small bedroom with a single bed and a fold down bunk above it. You have a small closet with drawers inside and a side table for the bed. Between the small bedroom and the living room there is a bathroom on your left that is the same size as a standard balcony cabin. You then walk into a very large living room with a couch, 2 side chairs, a coffee table, and a small dining area with a table and 4 chairs. You also have the television, and set of drawers and small desk / makeup area just as you would find in a standard room. Finally, you have a separate “master” bedroom with 2 doubles that can be pushed together or left separate. You also have a full size closet and a small side cabinet with shelves. The master cabin has the standard shelf above the beds with the door just like in a standard Solstice room. The veranda has 4 chairs and table. However the forward portion of the balcony is slightly blocked in by the front of the ship. In addition to the sliding door to the veranda you also have windows in the dining area and master bedroom that face forward. These forward facing windows do not open.

Our next impression of the cabin was, where is the missing furniture? There is way more space than furniture. You have large areas with nothing in them especially the master bedroom which desperately needs a side chair. Also, the dining table and 4 chairs seem like they were an afterthought found in the crew dining area.

This is a large room designed for a family traveling together. It’s not luxurious like a suite, even though you have almost as much space as a Royal suite.

Why you would book this room. Perfect for 3 people traveling together who don’t want to share a single room. You can easily add a 4th person if they can climb up into the bunk in the smaller bedroom. Lots of space to spread out. The windows in the dining area and master bedroom allow for lots of natural light. You have a large balcony if you book a room on Deck 8. Finally, it’s reasonably close to the forward elevator bank which we found to have much less use most of the time and a very short wait. Optional space - There is an outer door to your cabin and it would allow you to connect your cabin to the neighboring ocean view cabin – no veranda (8105 / 8106 / 7105 / 7106) giving you a huge amount of space and 2 bathrooms. This would require you to purchase the additional cabin.

Why you might NOT want to book this room. It is NOISY in the morning when arriving into port. You will hear every rope winch, hatch, motor, device that is used. This includes the bow thrusters that sound like a jet engine and will rattle your room when they are used, just like you were above a very active airport runway. I read that if the ship anchors for a tender port that it sounds like your room is part of a military invasion – I believe it. Remember, you will normally start to dock an hour before your announced arrival time. This means that these noises start between 5:30am and 6:30 am unless it’s a day at sea.

Other reasons you might not want this room. There is only 1 bathroom and it’s the standard cabin size designed for use by 1 person at a time, even though the room has plenty of space to have installed a larger one. You will have a bit longer of a walk to the MDR or specialty restaurants – potentially an issue for someone mobility impaired. There is only 1 television in the living room – none in either bedroom so lounging in bed watching a movie is not an option. Finally, this room is at the very front of the ship and you will have more movement in rough seas vs a room in the center of the ship.

Would we book this room again? Yes / Maybe. The extra space in the room was great as was the additional bedroom. However, the single bathroom was a slight issue for 3 adults as was the noise early in the morning. However, we never missed any of the great arrivals into port, especially Malta. Yes we would get this room, but only if we had 3 travelers and didn’t want to pay a single supplement for a 2nd cabin or if we had 2 adults and 2 kids. If you have 4 adults you are far better off booking 2 connecting cabins.

FYI – Good friends who stayed in a Family Veranda Stateroom on a Millennium class ship (Summit) located on the stern said that they didn’t have a full second bedroom but rather a sliding divider to an additional bedroom area. They also had a huge aft facing balcony. Best of all, they had no noise issues. They said they would definitely book the room again on a Millennium class ship.

QUIET?: Yes in cabin

BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed
