Charleston pre-cruise hotels that include cruise-wk parking? Priceline?

Hello. We are a NJ/MD couple driving to Charleston for the 4/18 sailing of the NCL Majesty out of Charleston. We would like to find a nice hotel (mid priced) to stay the night before the cruise that would allow us to...

- park free for cruise week

- have a breakfast included

- be in the downtown area

Does anyone have a list of the hotels that offer this? And do you know if the parking has to be RESERVED in advance as a special deal or does it come with your reservation?

Has anyone done this on Priceline? What did you ask for -- what number of stars and in which area -- and how much did you get it for?

Thanks so much for your advice.

Well, that's a big request. If staying downtown you most likely will not find a place where you can leave your as parking is at a premium... but depending on the place you would be able to walk to the pier. I would highly suggest you stay downtown as many places can be confusing as to whether it is in a good area. DO NOT stay in North Charleston. Some areas are fine but you need to know that so just avoid the area. Mt. Pleasant has some hotels that do offer park and cruise.

  • 3 weeks later...

The Inn at River Crossing, Mainstay Suites, Holiday Inn, Exended Stay, and others are clustered together just across the bridge in Mount Pleasant, just a few minutes from downtown and the port. Several offer free car park for the cruise. We stayed at Mainstay before cruise and had continental breakfast, stayed at Inn at River Crossing post cruise and had nice hot breakfast.

I've spent a lot of time checking out the options. The least expensive option that I found is the Hampton Inn on Daniel Island. They have a "Stay, Park, Go" plan that includes the room, parking during the cruise and round-trip transportation to the cruise terminal.

Others I found are:

Quality Suites (every room has a separate bedroom and living room)

http://www.qualitysuitescharleston.com/

I was quoted $170 for the package...room, parking and shuttle. Also includes hot breakfast and wifi.

Radisson (near airport)

http://www.radisson.com/charlestonsc_airport?s_cid=L6845338

I was quoted $144 for the package…room, parking and shuttle. (free wifi, rooms have refrigerators)

Holiday Inn – Riverview

http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hotel/chsrv?rpb=rate&ias=y

I was quoted approximately $147 for room, parking and one-way shuttle. Must make own arrangements for return to hotel, but this is close to the dock.

She said to make reservations online and when you check in tell them that you need to leave your car during the cruise.

I have stated this before and will say so again... DO NOT STAY in North Charleston unless you know the area... IT can be dangerous if you make the wrong turn.

Daniel Island is wonderful and if the price is right is good. Make sure you get off on Daniel Island and not Clements Ferry road... very different and easy to get lost.

The Inn at River Crossing in Mt. Pleasant is running at $55 for park and room... you can get a lot of taxi for the difference.

Thanks for the info. The Hampton Inn on Daniel Island is $140 + tax for 2 double beds. That includes parking during the cruise and round-trip transportation.

The price at The Inn at River Crossing sounds great. I looked online, but it says to call for a better price. It also includes a hot breakfast.

Do you know how far it is from the cruise terminal and the approximate cost of a taxi?

It is about 6-7 miles... just over the bridge from downtown. It should be around $20 or less. Call the hotel and they will most likely know.

I called The Inn at River Crossing. Their rate is higher in March, so I can't get the great price that others are getting. She quoted me $82 plus tax. I think I'll try to stay at the Holiday Inn.

It's has nice views... but the area right around it is kinda rough. It is between 2 busy 3 lane roads and just stays dirty. With a car it is fine. You will not be walking anywhere.

Check out the map... do the hybrid and see what I mean:

overall area - type in the inn at river and holiday inn and see where they are.
