ddunn Posted February 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Hello everyone, I love the Carnival Glory and have sailed her twice, booked again for March 28th. I have never stayed in an interior room. We have a 4C interior stateroom this time, on the Main deck. I think it is 2385. Can anyone tell me if the inside 4C's have a couch in them? There are 3 of us.......I just want to know what to expect! Thanks!!!! Denise

Denise Denise, That's the main difference between Inside cabins and oceanview and balconies on the Glory as far as layout is concerned. There are NO sofas in interior cabins. Au48 Posted February 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Rats! Are they still pretty much the same size, or are they smaller? On the Glory, interior rooms are a bit smaller than ocean view rooms. Interior rooms are 185 sq ft. Oceanview Rooms are 220 sq ft. Balcony Rooms are 185 sq ft (interior) + 35 sq ft (balcony) = 220 sq ft total

We normally always stay in a balcony room, but the husband has quit smoking, so i am willing to try the interior and save a little money. If i dont like it, next time it is balcony again!!!! ddunn Posted February 8, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted February 8, 2009 yes, that is what i am thinking! I want to try it anyway.... This will be my husband's platinum cruise, and i wanted to make it special, but gosh, for the 3 of us, it was a 500 dollar difference!! So we will try interior, and if we dont like it, we have lived and learned! We had a balcony on our sept cruise, and because my husband stopped smoking, we were rarely out there!!!!! jolyn928 Posted February 8, 2009 #11 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Anyone else have an opinion on the interior rooms????? I'm a firm believer that any room on a cruise is a good room! :) That being said, is your third passenger a child? If so, I could see the interior room working. If it's another adult, it's going to be super duper cramped. We've only had an interior once, and didn't have near enough storage space for the two of us. We had friends stay in an interior on Glory, and were surprised at the difference in size. I'm sure you'll have a blast either way!
firefly333 Posted February 8, 2009 #12 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Anyone else have an opinion on the interior rooms????? I have to admit I dont look forward to a cruise where I cant see out as much (with the exception of the PR cabins on Voyager we are going to try this next cruise, which have a inside view). I usually try and get one of the 1A cabins that have port holes if nothing else on a ship like Glory to save money. They are larger than a inside but the beds wouldnt push together. Luckily I have 2465 next time, that is now a 6B cabin, one more time before I have to go the port hole route. We have usually tried to get a cheaper cabin that you can see out some way. The old 6Bs, up in front of some of the higher decks are now 4Gs, with a very obstructed view, but at least you have a window. Maybe you can get a free upgrade to one of them. Its a rare cruise we only get a inside cabin, but due to circumstances, we couldnt take advantage of a free upgrade last cruise and settled for a 4E right behind the purser's desk, and it wasnt that bad. The location made up for not seeing out somewhat. So, we are trying a few inside locations too as a compromise, so we can cruise 5 times this year. NeedATan Posted February 8, 2009 #13 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Anyone else have an opinion on the interior rooms????? I've had an interior room on the Glory twice (finally upgraded to a balcony for the next cruise). Instead of the sofa, the inside rooms have a small chair and a small table. We were in 6420 and 9220. 6420 is a room arranged sideways, and for some reason, it seemed bigger. We only had two people, but I think it would be doable with three. I had an interior room on NCL last year and it was SOO much smaller than Carnival - there's NO way 3 people could live in that room for a week. TheFlyingPreacher Posted February 8, 2009 #17 Share Posted February 8, 2009 My wife and I have always cruised the interior cabins all the way on the bottom of the boat. Sometimes, having cruised Carnival in the past, we can get some upgrades up a few floors, but we've never sailed in anything other than interior rooms. The main reason for that is we are never really in the room. We're either eating, on shore, in the casino, eating, on deck, in the hot tub, eating, or various other ship activities. It seems we're only in the room 8 hours per day and its typically dark and we are sleeping for those 8 hours.
ddunn Posted February 8, 2009 Author #18 Share Posted February 8, 2009 you are right! now we normally got balcony rooms because my husband was a smoker, ......and i didnt want to sit in the room while he spent his time on the lido deck in the smoking section!!!! But he quit smoking after 45 years.......and still isnt smoking, so i told him i would go in an interior if he wasnt smoking........... We are going to try it! Rochmom Posted February 8, 2009 #19 Share Posted February 8, 2009 We sailed with four in a 4C - 2334 on the Glory - last summer. Our DDs were 14 and 12 at the time. We considered oceanview, but the TA pointed out the the cost difference would pay for our pre & post hotel nights. Yes, the third bed is a pull down - in ours, both came down from the ceiling, and the room steward left them open for the entire trip, rather than closing daily. Probably too much work, and you never know when you want a nap. We were very content with the room. Sure, more space might have been nice, but you don't miss what you never had in the first place. The dds never complained about having the uppers-in fact, they thought it was kind of fun. We spent very little time in the cabin anyway. And, we are doing it again this summer, same ship, different inside room. As first time cruisers, we liked the Main deck because we felt very little movement, being in the middle and down lower. ddunn Posted February 9, 2009 Author #20 Share Posted February 9, 2009 thanks for your response........when the beds pull down, where are they? meaning.........over the king size bed? over the dresser area?????? Our 9 yr old granddaughter will be with us......we raise her.
firefly333 Posted February 9, 2009 #21 Share Posted February 9, 2009 If you imagine the twins on either side, the pull down will be over them. So, if you push the twins together for one big bed, you will have a hard time walking thru the cabin, cozy, but it can be done.
ddunn Posted February 9, 2009 Author #22 Share Posted February 9, 2009 thanks!! I appreciate your response. We will only need one of the beds down.....so maybe that will not be as bad!

Yes the 3rd is a child.......she is 9......I guess the bed will be one of those uppers that fold down...... I think we will be ok in an interior...... If not, we will know better for next time. I really think you will be fine! My past cruises have been 3 adults in one inside room. one adult would have to sleep on the pull down bed, not the most comfy for an adult, but just fine for a child. There was enough room for 3 of us in the room. I found the inside to be really cozy and comfortable. Tho i really want to keep two in an inside room from now on, cuz of the bed issue. I am worried myself about 3 adults and 1 child (aged 4) in a balcony room that we have planned for sept., we kind of booked it really fast cuz of the good deal and everything, but now im thinking maybe i should book another cabin somehow. haha Nontheless i am looking forward to my FIRST BALCONY! woohoo Good Luck, David.
