LindaJSteele Posted February 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2009 If you do a search on here, you'll find all of the perks listed. It can be quite fun. Our favorite part is the free laundry service; you don't have to take enough clothes for an entire week. We take clothes for about 3-4 days, then send them out to be laundered. Then we send it out again right before we head home. That way - not much dirty laundry after you get home!
ddunn Posted February 12, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Thank you Firefly. Last cruise was my first platinum, but we had other people with us, and I just didnt notice what all was done. I thought this time i should be prepared since we are both platinum! CWcruisers Posted February 12, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Priority tender boarding. No need for tender tickets or waiting in long lines. I just checked your sailing date and the best part of all is that you have to re-immigrate into St Thomas. That morning there is a long line that stretches the length of the ship and everyone has to go through that line to get off the ship, except you. They delivered a letter to us and had us meet in a lounge where a crew member escorted us to the front of the line. Now if that doesn't make you feel VIP, I don't know what else will. This happened to me on the Miracle, so I would assume all ships in the fleet have a similar procedure.

rangerdog Posted February 12, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Yes, we were given a galley tour on the Fantasy last month!! Matter of fact, I was the only Platinum member and I could take one other room with me. It was a personalized tour...we were the only ones on the tour. It was really cool!!! KatSt Posted February 12, 2009 #12 Share Posted February 12, 2009 wow, great idea, thanks!!!! do they do a pretty good job with the laundry???? It's wash and fold service. I wouldn't send anything that is delicate or you are afraid may shrink or lose color. As far as the Galley tour goes, on the Miracle there was an inviation waiting in the cabin stating where and when to meet for the VIP passengers. On the Elation there was a note saying that if I wanted to take a Galley tour to contact them. Just make sure you read all the things that they leave in your cabin. firefly333 Posted February 12, 2009 #18 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Oh, I know a really really good thing if there are problems. At the purser's desk there is a special line roped off for platinum members. This might not be important most cruises, but on the Conquest Ike cruise, those folks could walk right up and talk to someone when the regular line snaked all the way to the theater. Just look for the platinum sign at the purser's desk. It might not be listed as a perk, but it looked like a good thing to me. I didnt check on my last cruise if there was a platinum line, but Im sure on Conquest.
Kurbanfan Posted February 12, 2009 #19 Share Posted February 12, 2009 How does one go about booking a galley tour? I think it would be neat to see. :) They usually have the day and time the tours are held in the capers........ We just showed up at that time and took the tour. This was a couple years ago...... I don't think they changed the way it is done. Maybe someone that has done it recently will post???

IKE Posted February 13, 2009 #24 Share Posted February 13, 2009 As Platinum Members, last year for first time on the "Miracle". We enjoyed priority embarkation and disembarkation. It was great! At Pursers Desk, special Platinum Members line. Free Wash and fold laundry and priority tendering if your ship doesn't dock at a pier. There are a few other perks, but can't think of all of them right now. So Congratulations on becoming a Platinum Member.
DarthGrady Posted February 13, 2009 #25 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Hey Denise! I got to use the Platinum perks for the first time on the bachelor party cruise last month. It was really nice! I sent laundry a couple of times, so all I had to do was unpack when I got home. I also got an invitation letter to the Platinum galley tour, but didn't make it. We did gobble down the little snack tray they dropped off one evening though. I was kinda like you, I didn't get to really enjoy all the perks since I was with a group. Our next cruise is the honeymoon, so I am looking forward to getting full use of the benefits.
