What would you have done?

Too bad they weren't escorted off the ship. Like to see how pleased with themselves they'd be then.

If I had my way I would have them thrown overboard!!

:o

Okay that's a little harsh but I have no tolerance for these things. Rowdy kids + me = end of the world. Just ask MY kids!!:rolleyes:

On and off ship there are clowns in all corners of this earth (and at sea apparently). What can you do?

Only sail cruises longer than 7 days, avoid the Caribbean on holiday & school break sailings if at all possible. I realize that some folks can't avoid those sailings dates, but to know the possibility of having even a fraction of that experience on board & going during those times would be enough to put us off.

Honestly, the first morning I awoke with my balcony covered in candy and pre-chewed gum, their parents would have gotten an earful. These are the kinds of kids who truly should be disiplined by the cruise lines. They should have been confined to their rooms for the duration of the cruise with no exceptions, including dinner. They could have their food brought to them!

Let's see if their parents aren't a little more attentive then. Who raises these kinds of children?

I have four children, one who's almost 15, and he's appalled that his peers act this way. He honestly didn't know what to say when he saw this. He saw NO humor in it, at all. Of course, he's my oldest and I guess God knew I'd never have any more if he wasn't, basically, an angel, so maybe he isn't the best way for me to judge teenagers.

I can't believe this kind of behaivor went on without someone complaining. I think the moral of the story is that nothing will change if we don't report bad behavior. This goes for chair hogs, unruly children, and these sorry excuses for young "adults".

Be assured, on my upcoming cruise, any unruly behavior will be reported and I will not stand by to watch it continue.

Yes, Carnival attracts a younger, sometime sophomoric, crowd. We found that out and don't cruise Carnival.

Well, Carnival demographics shows the average passenger age between 40 and 45 years old..... The morons and idiots can be all ages and be on all ships.

Anytime alcohol is flowing and those with no self control over indulge, these things can and will happen.

It happens on every ship at one time or another.

Personally, I've just completed my 64th Carnival cruise and have been sailing with them since 1976. I've witnessed unruly children and drunks but never any destructive behavior of any kind.

I've recently retired after 32 years in the travel business and have over 250 cruises under my belt; have cruised on almost every major cruise line currently sailing and many now defunct. It's been my experience that a fool is a fool no matter what ship they are on.

Did you go on a short cruise with them? Because to be perfectly honest with you, our "rowdiest" cruise vacations have been on RCI, hands down.

I understand that short cruises attract a younger demographic simply because they are less time away from school, work or whatever, and the price is more suited to them. However, on 7 day or longer cruises with Carnival, we've never had a single incident with them. On RCI, we've had a few cases of poorly supervised teens running up and down the halls at 2 and 3 in the morning.

And yes, I got up, firmly told them that if they so much as walked loudly down my hallway again, I'd call the purser's desk and have them bodily escorted away. They had exactly 2 minutes to decide what they'd like to do. They started to say something smart alecky and I said...1 minute 47 seconds and counting. (again, with quite a bit of anger). My husband got up to stand behind me and they scurried away as fast as they could go. We DID, in fact, call the purser's desk and never heard or saw them again.

I think if the parents aren't choosing to be responsible, then each adult should take the situation in hand. It's rediculous how cowed adults act when some kid is acting stupid, these days. I'm not talking about normal kids horseplay. If you're walking by the pool and some kid splashes you, DUH...that's what kids do and it's a pool, right? You're probably gonna get wet and you knew that. Or if little ones are tired and having a hard time, it's actually more adult to show them some patience. Those kinds of instances aren't what I'm referring to. (just being clear)

But, some behaviour is unacceptable and I think adults should BE the adult. Not only to prevent a vacation from not being as enjoyable as it should be, but because that kid could be injured or harmed simply because a grown person didn't have the nerve to be and act...grown! Of course, that's just my opinion.

I have contacted both my cabin attendant and the purser's desk about some things. Unfortunately, neither time was anything done about it...

In 2006 after the world series-we had some people above us hooting and hollering out on their balcony because their team won.

After about an hour of this (it was near 12 am and as we were debarking the next day, we had to get up early) we called the purser's desk. They came to our room and went out on the balcony to see where the commotion was coming from and left-a few minutes later all was silent, we had a good night's sleep after all.

Huh! And it wasn't even a Carnival ship! We have witnessed worse behavior on RCCL than Carnival. At least at age 60, I'm happy to know that I'm part of the younger crowd and have sailed Carnival 13 times and am looking forward to #14.

Top of the line jerks! Their own footage on youtube should be sent to RCI.

I hope some one sends it.

I would be livid if they had been above me. To be lucky enough to cruise at their age and then to act like that is appalling. If they don't know how to behave they should NOT be allowed out of their house.
