Rare geoherb Posted November 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2004 I'm still using my Wilderness Experience backpack from college (20 years ago). The best advice is to find one that fits you comfortably by trying it out in a store. Be sure to put some things in it when trying it out.
StephenJohnson Posted November 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2004 Eagle Creek makes great packs in every size and configuration, but so do a lot of companies. As geoherb said, try them on for best effect.
serene56 Posted November 23, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2004 For my second cruise I ordered the tote bag from Carnivals web page-(not the full one) This one costs 12 bucks. now that is what i use for all my excursions. Its the perfect size.
spaceguy Posted November 23, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2004 I have a North Face small backpack that is suppose to be a bag for mountain biking. It has elastic webbing pockets on the outside for stuffing things you need often and inside compartments for things you want more secure or need less often. balanceok Posted November 23, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 23, 2004 I have both a North Face and an Eddie Bauer back pack. It just depends on which one we grab. We carry the pack on the plane and use it as our day pack when we are in port. Either one works good. Just look for a standard day pack.
vanclan Posted November 23, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 23, 2004 If you are doing water based excursions and need a towel, make sure your pack is large enough for a good sized towel. The ones the cruise line loans you for shore excursions are fairly large and fluffy.
Mary Jane 711 Posted November 27, 2004 #8 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I just bought a Jansport "Cirrus" Hydration backpack. NOt only does it have plenty of space for the usual stuff..it can hold up to three liters of water. You can drink from a tube that hangs down from the straps. Pretty convenient if your doing a lot of walking. It isn't overly large, which was why I got it. I dont like something too bulky. It was only $19.99 at Sam's CLub..but i am sure they have it other places. It has plenty of pockets and a roomy main zippered -in area. :)

raytownlady Posted November 27, 2004 #10 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I found a great one yesterday at Target it's a convertible backpack, the size is good and the best part is that it zips down to about the size of a 5 x 7 photograph so it won't take up much room in your luggage.
