Matt...you will get there....you are doing a great job.

And you know missou is only doing the stairs because of you:D

Oh i know that. And I love that I have made someone else do stairs.

And my measurements:

Previous

Neck - 16 1/2

Upper arms -15

Chest -38

Waist - 36

Thighs 22

Calves 15

NOW

Neck - 15 1/2

Upper arms -14

Chest -38

Waist - 36

Thighs 24

Calves 16

I credit the inch gains in my thighs and calves to muscle building.

I went to sleep with some pain in the back of my legs because of those stairs :D:D

I'll take a day off to relax, but tomorrow, I'll be back...

I did my abs this morning and I'll go for a walk later today.

Matt, do you thing we can conveince someone to join us in the stairs??

I don't want to be the only one competing against you...

So, who is up for the challenge??

I am up for the challenge.. oh wait, i already do it.. well not today, as I had a lot to carry in today. But that is no excuse.. will have to do it double tomorrow. and maybe a slight jog..

But yes, who will compete with us? I do 160 up and 160 down, so 320 stairs a day, not counting what I do at home going up and down and also at the office when i have to use the facilities (as they are a floor below us).

Challenge nothing, you just want the rest of us to have pain too.

If I do take you both up on the challenge will you take it easy on me.

Can I work my way up to your 160?

That's not 160 steps at one time is it?

Of course you can work your way up. I do have 160 steps in the morning that I walk up. Friday is a nice little jog up them (still have yet to make it to the top without stopping and walking, but I have made it to the 7th floor landing (and I work on the 8th floor).

I think tomorrow is going to be a walk up them a few times throughout the day. I love pain, what can i say?

"Pain is weakness leaving the body"

I work on the 3rd floor of my building so my stair workout is baby steps compared to Matt's. I take the stairs in the morning and after I have taken my afternoon walk. Unless I have something heavy that I need to lug up to my office I typically take the stairs.

Tomorrow I am traveling to Sacramento so I will try to be good while eating airport food! [i Brenda, promise not to stop at Cinnabon and get any sweet, delicious, gooey, aromatic cinnamon rolls - not even the mini ones.]

It was just a short treadmill work out for me tonight.... too many things to do around the house and places to take my daughter.

Wishing you all well tonight,

Brenda

Yeah!! 4 of us are working on the stairs!! Welcome Vickey and Brenda!!!

When I do my stair routine, I go up and down the stairs 15 times in a row, non stop. I do not jug through the routine because of medical reason such as a very partial paralysis on the right side of my body because of a car accident. It is not enough to prevent any movement, but I can not move as quickly as I did when I was a gymnast.

So, my stair routine is 300 steps done as quickly as I can non-stop... My abs routine is made up of exercices I use to do when I was a gymnast. When I do the work on my arms I have a gizmo to help me out. Here is a picture of it..

31wN-44fPVL._SL500_AA280_.jpg

I also use it to strenghten my inner thighs.

When I finish my exercices, I always make sure I stretch my muscles properly. I hadn't done so the other days and that is why my legs were in pain tuesday night.

I don't know how much exercices I will be able to do today since my belly pain woke me up at 4:30 this morning. I might be a little tired... Well... It is 5:48 and I just did my arms and inner thighs routines and some streching... I will do my abs workout while DH is in the shower later on this morning... Maybe... I'll see about the stairs as well.... See how much you are helping me out!!! Just reading and writing on this post makes me do my exercices. Thanks

Have a nice day and keep on being a winner!!!

Welcome to the stair walkers club Brenda. I too usually only walk them when I don't have to lug equipment up to my floor, which doesn't happen often. Friday's are my jog up the stairs. I tried today, and get stuck at the 7th floor landing... grrrrrrrr.. Only one more landing to go and I will jog up all 8 floors. After that, gotta work on my timing.

I am flying next week to atlanta, so I will have to try my best not to eat crappy food for 3 days. hard to do in an airport. But plan to use the gym and pool in the hotel. Hope I am on the top floor for my stairs. :)

You can always ask for it.

I finally went back to sleep at around 7:00 and got up at 10:00. Didn't do my abs yet, but I am getting ready for it. I'll do them right after I get myself something to eat. Take care everyone!!

Matt see what you and Missou have started...:(

I actually found where they keep their steps:eek: here at the assisted care facility I have patients at and I used them this morning I walked down all 38 steps and walked back up them, plan on doing this at least once more that will make 152 for today:)

I am actually thinking of packing some of my tuna kits and taking them with me. This way, i have a good lunch/dinner while down there.

I also did think of getting some meal bars to take with me, so I might do that too.

Oh and I don't care about the Girly talk. I am getting married, so I know all about this stuff. :)

I need to do some whinning here. My stu... scale won't move even if I am doing a lot of exercices. I have been moving a lot more in the past few weeks and eating healthier foods, but the scale stays stuck at 163!!! The scale is new on top of that!!! My bra is getting looser but not my pants... What is wrong with my belly????? When I think about the 27 days till I see the specialist I think it is too long expresss1236.gif

Ok, the whinning is over, writting all about it just made me laugh lollol341.gif

I will now go and do my stair routine and maybe the scale will understand that it is time to move down lollol341.gif

I thought about this when I was in the stairs. Last month, my weigth went up 1 or 2 pounds until the end of my red week and when it was over, I had lost 3 pounds even if I hadn't move so much during the precious month... By doing the exercice, my weight won't go up anymore I hope, but when it will go down, I will be very happy... That is the reason why I increased my stair routine. Instead of doing the ups and downs 15 times, I did them 20 times. That means that I am up to 400 steps in a row. Next month, when the scale will go up, I hope it won't reach 160 pounds ;)

The tuna kits sound as if they could be the answer and not only save your healthy eating issue but also help save your budget......believe me you will need to save every penny for that new soon to be wife.:D

And I use the protein bars by Cliff they are pretty good.

Relax and don't worry to much, you are eating healthy and exercising , as my doctors tell me it sometimes takes your body to realize what you are doing to it. And with all the exercise you are doing you could be gaining muscle weight. Another possibility is water weight due to your tummy problems. Either way don't get discouraged. And you can whine anytime I am here for you.

Good evening pals!

I'm exhausted tonght so I'm not hitting the treadmill.... I don't know why travel takes so much out of me???? The GOOD NEWS - I successfully passed by the Cinnabon stand at the airport!!! I had a 1/2 of a smoked turkey sandwich from California Pizza Kitchen - no cheese, no mayo, just turkey, lettuce, and tomato on focaccia. Deelish!

Take care,

Brenda

but this morning i did my jog up the steps. Not all 160 yet, but closing in on it. Hoping that next week I will be able to do it.

Dear-Dear Matt I don't like you this morning:eek:but my legs, thighs and calves dearly love you:D I went up and down the stairs a total of 28 stairs x 4=112 stairs yesterday and found myself this morning making my first rounds and started to wait on the elevator but all of a sudden you popped up in my mind and said "TAKE THE STAIRS" and behind you was missou pushing me towards them:eek: So far that is 28 stairs x 2=56 stairs and will probably have to make 2 more trips before this day is over. Just wondering if the steps at my house counts I have a tri-level home and I go up and down the dang things a hundred times a day.

Well today has been a busy one starting at the Y to do my cardio(only 60 minutes ) and then my strength training workout.

I will have to work till 4:00pm and then I am going to pamper myself with a hair cut and highlights.

I did not give into temptation last night when my DH callled from work to say he was coming home he asked me if I wanted anything from Taco Bell I said NO.:) Instead I ate the rest of my cabbage/potatoes and another garden veggie burger. But I did eat a cup of cherry cordial sugar-fat free icecream.

Keep going towards the stairs. I don't count the ones at my house, but that is definitely good to do. As you could go up and down them millions of times. I have not done a workout on the stairs, but I say you can count them, if you do them all at once.

Today is dragging on.. and it is nice, but i know when i leave it will be rainy. Not good weather to look at houses in....:mad::mad:

Let's go Matt, we've got some pushing to do!!! I was on the treadmill for 35 minutes today at a lower pace and I will go in the stairs after I grab myself something to eat. If everything goes according to plan, I will be up to 500 steps by next week. The scale should start being understanding by then :p Or else guerre149.gif

TGIF

I am so glad a week end is in sight.:)

I'm so tired today, it has been a busy week and with a full moon out it gets quite harry with some of our patients.

Well I did get my hair cut and highlighted it felt good to do something for myself.

I went to grocery store afterwards and bought my spaghetti squash and my egg plant so I can do some major cooking tomorrow.

I also bought a lean beef roast to make a low cal. beef stew.

I have found if I have the meals planned and made up it is easier to stick to eating healthy instead of coming home after a hard day(like today) and just settling for something fast and easy.

BTW.....Matt and missou I did get in another 112 stairs today for a total of 224 stairs.
