GrumpaTom Posted March 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2009 I logged into the HAL website gift section to set up some prepaid goodies for our upcoming cruise like coffee cards, drink cards, renewal of vows cerimony, etc. and noticed that in the Spirits section HAL lists various Hard Alcohol. Does anyone know if these are delivered to your cabin for your use while on ship or if they are stored and given to you on debarkation like you had purchased them in the gift shop? rochelle_s Posted March 24, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2009 They are for consumption in your cabin. For mix, you can bring your own, order some with your liquor or purchase onboard. The prices are higher than the duty free liquor but I personally think they are a great value. The list you see online is not that extensive, if you have a different brand that you prefer you might find they carry it by giving ships services a call. The ship will also have a duty free shop on board where you can order alcohol that will be delivered to you on the last night of the cruise for taking home with you. Krazy Kruizers Posted March 24, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2009 We find it easier to call Ship Services at 1-800-541-1576 to order our vodka for the cabin -- and re always ask for them to e-mail a receipt back to us. More choices this way. Sorry -- forgot to mention that when we get to our cabin, the bottle is already there waiting for us.
Rare boards Posted March 24, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2009 We have preordered our Canadian Club from Ship Services and it has been delivered and in our cabin when we arrive on board. One other good thing is that it is already paid for, so one less expense to think about while on board.

willowoodf Posted March 25, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2009 One piece of advice - if you order online before your cruise, be sure to bring your receipt with you when you board! We always order a bottle or two to be waiting in our cabin and only once had a problem - but we were able to furnish our receipt to prove we did indeed pre-order. The bottles may seem a little high in price, but they are are bigger than your regular bottle you buy at the grocery, and it sure is nice to have a drink on your veranda! Does anyone know if these are delivered to your cabin for your use while on ship or if they are stored and given to you on debarkation like you had purchased them in the gift shop? Delivered while onboard, and these are the bottles that I believe are 1.1 or 1.25 liter. Not the 750mL. And FYI, a lot of times, variations of the choices there are also available. For instance I believe they list Absolut and Absolut Citron. Since the ship also carries Absolut Mandarin for example, if there's enough available, they can provide that in place. Mary For some of us in Washington and other states where the State controls the sale of alcohol and taxes the you know what out of it, the prices are even a bargain! :)
SandyMc Posted March 25, 2009 #11 Share Posted March 25, 2009 Can you also order a bottle of liquor from room service after you board  (I seem to remember this from previous cruises).

If you figure you don't have to tip anyone for delivering it, it's cheaper!
Spanky My Posted March 26, 2009 #15 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Figure there is a 15 % gratuity attached to the bill either way . Just wondered if it is possible to get it yourself from the bar . I have no trouble tipping Room Service in addition to the 15 % included if service is prompt . Thanks for the response...
