Advice on our cabin please??

Hi Guys,

 

We are going on our first cruise in April on the famous Ventura!!!!:rolleyes:

 

Does anyone know if having a cabin right next to the lifts is a problem??

 

Also do you know if a balcony room is big enough for 2 adults and 2 children??

I don't know the Ventura, but on RCI and Princess, the lifts have never been a problem. Also, very convenient!

On most ships, the elevators open AWAY from the cabin hallway--there's usually a foyer for the elevators and stairs.

We had a balcony cabin on HAL's Westerdam that was right beside the outside lift. I was worried about the noise from it and passengers waiting for it. We never had any problems until the last night of our cruise. On that night, I could hear the cabin stewards moving the luggage right after I went to bed. It did not keep me awake very long.

 

We've also had a cabin on the Star Princess that had the door right at the area where people waited for the lift. No problems with noise there either.

 

You should not have any problems fitting 2 adults and 2 children into a balcony stateroom that's designed for 4 people. There will usually be 2 berths that fold up against the wall or raise up against the ceiling. The primary consideration would be managing your time getting ready for dinner. It's bad enough with 2 people sharing 1 bathroom.
