tocanada Posted April 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Well, I guess it is better than nothing. But why just for the Balcony and Suite guests? Royal Caribbean Enhances Cruising Experience Innovative tooth picks to be provided on a nightly basis Miami – April 1, 2009 - Royal Caribbean International today announced a new fleet wide benefit for cruise vacationers. Effective April 1st, all passengers in Balcony Cabins and Suites will now receive two complimentary toothpicks in their cabins on a nightly basis. Responding to customer concern about tooth decay, Royal Caribbean elected to discontinue providing chocolates each evening and have been researching for a more appropriate item. The expansion of Royal Caribbean’s Labadee resort provided a welcome additional source of wood and ultimately an economic benefit to the local economy. Designed by well known Norwegian Frisk Tannlege, this new product is exclusive to Royal Caribbean and is sure to quickly become a collector’s item. "We are sure that we will get substantial feed back from our guests," said Darlig Tenner , senior vice president, Miscellaneous Merchandise, Royal Caribbean International. "We have conducted extensive use of this innovative product and I personally have found it very beneficial." Royal Caribbean International is a global cruise brand with 20 ships currently in service and two under construction. The line also offers unique cruisetour vacations in Alaska, Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, South America and New Zealand.

MrPete Posted April 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2009 This makes me angry. I will need three toothpicks, as I only have four teeth, and they break when I use even one. The good thing is that they are next to one another.

Clarea Posted April 1, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Can we combine the toothpicks with toilet paper, or do we have to chose one or the other?
Rare NorbertsNiece Posted April 1, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 1, 2009 I prefer peppermint flavoured floss. Is there an option to trade the tooth picks for floss? Will the picks be in C&A logo paper? I can see them becoming much sought after on eBay.
houlacruiser Posted April 1, 2009 #9 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Crazy as it is, my husband will be thrilled. He has to have his toothpicks after his meals. ;) I'll wait to see if this is an April Fool's before I tell him though!

Ocean Boy Posted April 1, 2009 #19 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Is any OBC being offered for those guests who have NO teeth an obviously have no need for a tooth pick? Do they have to take out their dentures at check-in to prove that they qualify for the OBC?

Benita Posted April 1, 2009 #21 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Will there be a special lounge in which to use them? A special room like the mirror room at Versailles would do nicely. Will the cabin stewards mold them into special figures, like they do the towels?
vickiw0318 Posted April 1, 2009 #22 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Don't worry. If you are not in a balcony or suite, you can probably purchase the RCI toothpicks off Ebay before you cruise. Used ones will be listed for even less than new ones. :)
