Fort Lauderdale or Miami post cruise?

Tintown

Recommended Posts

We will be finishing our Panama Canal cruise in Fort Lauderdale in April 2010, and have never been to Florida before. We would like to spend 4 - 5 nights there. Any suggestions as to which would be the best location would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It depends on what you like. My vote would be for Miami. I love Miami and it offers so many different experiences from wild and crazy in South Beach to subdued but beautiful over in Key Biscayne and everything in between. Do some research on Frommers.com on the different neighborhoods. I liked Ft Lauderdale but just didnt feel there was as much variety and things to do as when I was in Miami.

Is it still dangerous to drive around Miami? I remember a long time ago there were some European tourist being killed?

I would also like to drive from Ft L to Miami post cruise.

Thanks.

It is not dangerous to drive around Miami.

I also vote for Miami over Fort Lauderdale.
