Jade13 Posted February 22, 2010 #52 Share Posted February 22, 2010 At the entrance to the main dining room you are met by the Maître D’ and several assistants and will not be allowed in if you arrive inappropriately dressed. Maybe, but not on the PAII. Most people wore jeans or shorts during the day. One person wore shorts and flip flops everyday including dinner in the dining room. He was never turned away. Capri73 Posted February 22, 2010 #53 Share Posted February 22, 2010 My husband was not allowed in the bar to get a drink without a jacket one evening. It was formal night and we had not dressed for dinner yet.We were told to order from the room. I felt they were very rude. Our last SS trip we now go on SB.In our opinion much nicer.
brimary Posted February 22, 2010 #54 Share Posted February 22, 2010 My experience of Silversea staff enforcing the dress code all clients are made aware of prior to traveling is that it is dealt with in a very polite and courteus manner. The styaff should not be placed in the embarrassing situations by clients who think regulations and rules do not apply to them (shades of Tiger). commodore2010 Posted February 22, 2010 #55 Share Posted February 22, 2010 for all you Scotchman out there to me there is nothing better than a formal Kilt outfit; although it might be a little chilly in Alaska....Brrrrrrrrrrrr :) As a Scotsman, well 50% anyway, I would agree that a kilt with a proper dress shirt and tie should always be accepted.
