On our last cruise, my husband I decided to have breakfast in the main dining room on Christmas morning. We wear our holiday shirts and in general we're in a great mood. We end up sitting with two older british ladies, an irish woman, and another American couple. During the course of breakfast, the British ladies said to the Irish woman no less than three times that Americans just aren't festive enough, we don't celebrate, yada yada yada. After they leave, I look at my husband and say, "I guess our holiday shirts weren't enough. Maybe we should have broken out into spontaneous Christmas caroling for them." The whole table cracked up.

I have a couple.

1. I was lacking apparel when room service knocked on my door. I quickly grabbed a blanket and opened the door. He politely handed me my food, but I could hear him giggle after I closed the door. My wife also got a kick out of this.

2. Some guy was dressed in a baby doll dress the whole time. He was even wearing socks with lace. He said he lost a bet. When we were at the quest, he was the only one with a binky.

We just got back from the April 19-24 sailing Celebrity Century. There were two couples who were traveling together that carried around a pair of blow up dolls; one male, one female. The story they told us was that their friends Allison and Tony had set the whole cruise up, arranged everything and then at the last moment were unable to go. Their friends didn't want them to feel left out, so the dolls went in their stead. These couples dressed the dolls for every event, took them everywhere, and photographed and video taped "Allison & Tony" the entire trip. By the end of the cruise, everyone on board knew Allison and Tony. The crew even involved Tony in the final night's production show!

During Island night Sun Princess NYE creuise 07/08, my pic at the top gives you a visual of my husband that night, had been drinking all day and partying all night, I was doing the video,On this cruise were 600 Russians, well Greg finally sat down after dancing & singing with everyone on the ship males and females no descrimination with my husband next minute this Russian woman (probably about 60+ yrs old) tried to pick up my husband, well I have the camera right on them, the conversation went along at one stage she asked him his cabin number, I could'nt believe it when he came out with '602' she is stroking his beanie (with dreadlocks) Greg sitting there oblivious to what was happening, chatting away when she finally notices she is being videoed, she put her arm around him and smiled, I then said 'AND I'M HIS WIFE' the jaw dropped the arm dropped and she took off like lightening, It was even better when we got home and I showed my husband the video, he would'nt believe he had given her our cabin number... by the way she never showed up at our cabin lol

There was this really cute elderly gentleman on our last cruise. He always wore a short sleeved shirt, a tie, a Army vet hat, glasses and those big yellow glasses on top of his regular glasses. This is what he wore on one of the excursions. Subsequently we saw him around the ship wearing the same thing, but a different tie. He was so adorable..LOL. He loved to tell bad jokes.

Just got back from a cruise aboard the Jewel. I was standing in the buffet area, waiting for my Wife, when I was approached by an elderly German gentleman:

"Excuse me," he said, " Haf you been in movies?"

"Umm, No."

"Vel, You look like the capitan of the Titanic."

"I do? Didn't he die?"

"Nein. Vel, on the REAL Titanic. Ya, he did. I mean in the movie."

"Well, thanks, but, no, I wasn't in that movie."

"I vas going to ask you for an autograph....Ah, vel..."

And with that he wandered off.

Told my Wife that she is married to a possible movie star.....She hasn't stopped laughing, since...

I saw the movie. I don't remember what the captain looked like...Gotta watch it again....:D

In Dec. 03 I saw a guy who looked like Charlie Sheen, we were seated with him at a table for lunch. Now I pretty much knew he was't Charlie sheen-since we were on Carnival Inspiration-LOL- (I do believe he would pick a better ship!) but I told him "you look just like Charlie Sheen" his wife started laughing-she said he was told that all the time. BTW she was very ordinary looking 30 something gal, defiently NOT Denese Richards who he was married to at the time.

Was riding the bus to the shopping district in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Walking towards the port was a Rastifarian happily walking along the edge of the road. Wearing only his pants on one leg and the rest of his pants wrapped around his arm. People walking into town sure got an eye-full!

Loved the story about the dress falling apart. Lots of great stories!

Polygamists in Feb on the Carnival Spirit..I swear it's true..On the first night , at kareoke one of them dropped trou right in the middle of the lounge.

Jenny, I read your diary and all I can say is you and Ed sound like great people and seem to have the same attitude most cruisers have. You seems to have a zest for life.

Keep hanging in there. Enjoy your transatlantic next year. I need to plan a cruise for 2009 too. Prayers going out to you and your family.

Nothing to compare to most of the stories on here, but on Enchantment earlier this month we were late arriving at one of the shows and were standing along the rail happily enjoying the show. Just ahead of me along the rail was a woman, easily in her 30's or 40's was standing enjoying the show also. What was so interesting? She was wearing a hat of plastic fruit. Kind of like a hat my mother would have worn in the 50's with life sized fruit - oranges, bananas, etc attachted.

In the late 80s, about 10 of us (college group), decided to go parasailing on Paradise Island. Back then, you'd take a small boat out to a dock & parasail from the dock.

The tour operator lined us up by weight, lightest to heaviest.

I had a tour during my last cruise that actually had a scale to weigh you right before allowing you on the excursion. I wasn't at all tipping the scale or at risk of not being able to go on the trip but I was definitely mortified to have to step on the scale and have it read in front of my very, very lean boyfriend.

Ok, a couple from my first cruise about 4 years ago. My DH and I, and my DS, her hubby and 2 daughters. We boarded, and were checking out the ship after a drink or two? Anyway it was getting later and we wanted to drop off our carryons and check out our rooms.

We got sidetracked down the hall from our rooms, everyone was standing and talking, I figured I would run down the hall and check out our room. I opend the door, found someone standing there and talking. I quickly slammed the door, and ran back near hysterical to my hubby about someone being in our room. DH and BIL went to check it out. Much to my chagrin they both came back laughing, carrying the Tux I had rented for hubby that they'd hung on the closet door, and the talking was the tv..lol

Same cruise, one of my nieces was 12 at the time, and we showed her around to the kids place, complete with dozens of video/arcade games. My sister showed her how to use the room card, and told her not to go overboard.

Several days later, my sister checks her onboard acct from the tv, and there's over 400$ from the arcade on it...lol After blasting her daughter, my niece says, with a straight face, guess I should have gone overboard after all, huh?

Turned out ok, as my sister later that day won 1000 at the casino,,, good thing,,

Golden Princess Dec 06 - we were joined at the breakfast buffet the second day by an elderly couple in their bathrobes and jammies...looked like they had just roled out of bed and it was the most natural thing to go get breakfast without even brushing their hair.... it was all DH and i could do to not laugh outloud.

The next morning...there was a guy, about 30, at breakfast in nuttin' but his robe.... LOL

I guess instead of thinking it was hillarious the morning before....some people thought ''hey, good idea"

While on a cruise to Alaska, DH and I were on the balcony one morning when a "nekked" man on a balcony below (15 ft away) ran from his cabin to his balcony railing, looked over, turned, exposing the "full monty", and ran back inside. Whew!

I recognized him later at the buffet..even with clothes!:D

Gosh all of these are so funny, well here goes: One male guest aboard the Statendam HAL ordered all new clothes suits, tuxes, everything from the tailor; apparently his credit was denied for that amont and they entered his cabin taking all the clothes. For two days the guy walked around in shorts, a tux shirt and formal shoes. We laughed everytime we saw him. It turns out the office was calling the incorrect 800 # for the card. He finally got his clothes back but boy was he red.:p

OMG!!!

1994 Regent Sea. This lady carried a bottled beer in between her..two... large...breasts all week and would bend her head down to the bottle then bend over backwards at the waist and drink with no hands!!!!! She was very, very limber. The more she would drink out of the bottle the farther back she had to bend. It was quite impressive!

Great thread!!! Sure got me into stitches!!

There's one from us to keep this thread at top ....

During cruise on Star Princess in 1989 we were seated at table for 8. All couples were pleasant and good fun except for one. He was obnoxious and behaved like a spoiled brat (late 20's) and she was timid. We had to put up with his bragging about all the things he had acheived throughout his young life. I think they lived in NYC.

At dinner on the day the ship stopped at St. Thomas, he came in flashing and bragging about his purchase. He even took it off and handed it around the table for us to handle and have a look over ... his gold Rolex watch.

When it got into DH's hands DH said "mmm ... is it really a real Rolex? Let's see if it's waterproof" --- with this he dropped the few grand $ watch into his water glass! You could have seen the guy's face!!

Note: a few years before we went on a Far East trip and DH bought a fake Rolex for ~$100 in Bangkok. Had fun wearing it but it wasn't waterproof enough (who cared - it was fun!). I bought a fake Cartier watch for ~$40 and it lasted a couple years until it the insides rusted!!!

Yes, it was.

The Rolex owner was so flabbergasted at seeing his brand new gold watch going into the water glass just like that.

The rest of the table erupted into laughter but the wife just smiled.
