Have I been Downgraded?

I just went to check our up coming reservation on the Carnival Freedom sailing 9/06/09 and I see that our room as gone from a 5A to a 4A.....I did some inspecting and it seems a 4A means interior.....but we payed for an oceanview room what could have happened?

You still have a port hole cabin, they have just reclassified them on some ships.

Has the cabin number changed? If not don't worry about it. If it has, did you book a guarantee? Are you in the category that you booked? If no guarantee, then call. If wrong category, call.

If you booked Early Saver, this could be a benefit to you because now you will watch the 4A fares. My 5A cabins were reclassified to 4B. I still have the same cabins.

They have been reclassified from 5A to 4A, 4B, etc. Not sure why. We have a porthole cabin in October on the Ecstasy, and it is classified as a 4C.

R29 is a 4a on the Inspiration or at least it was yesterday. It is a porthole.

Maybe the 5As werent selling well, so they reclassified them as insides??

 

I have to wonder too sometimes what Carnival is thinking.

Our 5A porthole became a 4B and the price is $20 pp higher. :confused:

It will be interesting to hear what Carnival does if there are price drops to fill remaining true inside cabins in that category, but no porthole cabins on that deck are available.

 

I too am curious as to Carnival's thinking to make this change.
