quiescentlyfrozen Posted April 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2009 So I thought once I snagged the corner FV I currently have for Alaska on Millie I wouldn't have to think about cabins again. That is, until today when the suites on my sailing fell even lower in price! The question is - is an SS upgrade worth it for $490/pp? Could I swing the difference? Yes. Would I prefer to keep the difference *unless* the SS is a well-worht-it-upgrade? Also Yes! So in short... is having the nicer room + butler worth $490/pp? All opinions welcome! sasset Posted April 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2009 We have had corner FV's several times. We have never stayed in a SS but we toured one when we were considering upgrading once on board. We were not impressed with the SS. This was a 15 night cruise and we were in a standard balcony room at the time and elected not to upgrade even though it was going to be less than what your looking at. I don't think that we would upgrade from a FV to SS even if it was for no additional charge. Also a butler is an additional expense. excitedofharpenden Posted April 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2009 I personally would absolutely stay put. The butler (and extra tips), suite amenities, nicer furnished room and extra cruise credit wouldn't tempt me away from the great 270 degree Alaska views you'll get from the corner FV. If I'm not mistaken, isn't the FV a larger cabin than an SS? My brother's family got a corner FV for an Alaska cruise on Infinity this summer, as well as a CC aft two doors away. I told them to make sure they mark their reservation "No Upgrade." I would definitely keep the corner FV that you currently have.

We have had corner FVs several times and corner ones three times. The answer is Corner FV, Corner FV, Corner FV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We did the corner FV for Alaska on the Summit and the views are fabulous. You have the advantage of the view down the side of the ship and the total back view----------------"Priceless!!!!!!!"
