Freedom dry dock

Recommended Posts

I have a cruise scheduled for the Freedom 4/25/2010 and simeine tild me she would be in dry dock at this time. Does anyone know if this is current information? I checked RCC website and they are still showing the cruise so I am guessing the info is wrong but would like to know if anyone knows for sure or how I can find out. Thanks

Do they usually stick to schedule or do I have to worry about delays? Also where so they go for dry dock? Our cruise is scheduled for they day they come out of dry dock so would we still leave that day? Sorry about all the quetions but this is still new to me.

Thanks

It will be the 1st drydock for Freedom. Probably will be scrape and paint bottom of hull, and general "fix up" items.

The schedule can change. They are usually on time, and do not miss the next cruise (lost revenue).

I wouldn't be overly worried about it myself.

Being as it is still a long way off guess it is not worth stressing over. Thanks for the reply

There was a "Rumor" that Explorer would not sail on January 14, 2010. She was showing NA across the board after her Dry Dock week. That "Rumor" was not correct. She is sailing.

  • 7 months later...
Looks like Majesty and Monarch might not be leaving the RCL fleet as soon as some thought.

Rick and Deirdra

On our B2B on the Monarch in November the Captain told me that they are keeping Monarch for 5 more years and staying at PC.:D:D:D

I was on Freedon last month. I was talking with our head waiter about the drydock and what is done. he then told me that the scheduled April 2010 drydock for Freedom was being postponed 1 year as there was another ship who needed this drydock slot more. He had no further details.

One other item I forgot to mention - Freedom, IMHO, is in tip top condition. I did alot of walking around the ship and I could not find one thing that I felt needed attention.

Thats great to hear......I know there was some talk in earlier posts that there were a number of spots where the carpet was quite worn....however it was later posted that there were huge rolls of carpet aboard and they were replacing it in many areas during the late evening hours.....seems like maybe they performed a bit of a "at sea" freshing up.

We're scheduled on FOS for a B2B April 3-17, 2011. How do you find out about the drydock plans to see if we'll have to re-schedule. I know its a long way off, but we booked this far out to get the same center hump cabin for both legs of the B2B. Maybe it will be drydocked in late April?
