tw1nky62 Posted May 31, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2009 We are going on the 6/13/09 cruise on Liberty OTS. It's getting close and we haven't booked anything. The Itinerary: -Labadee (RCL private island) -Ocho Rios, Jamaica -George Town, Grand Cayman -Cozumel, Mexico Any suggestion would be great. Perhaps from your experience? It will be 2 adults and 15 & 14 year old. THX in ADVANCE :D

Jamaica - Dunns River Falls Cozumel - The Ruins tour Grand Cayman - Swimming with the Sting Rays Hope this helps :D Have fun planning! ### I agree with one add on. I would rent a jeep in Coz so you could have some freedom and flexability with your day. You could do the ruins on your own for less than half the price of what the ship will charge you. Car rental will run you about $70 - $80 for the day. Drive around the entire island and explore. Find a beach, grab some lunch, do some shopping, all at your own pace. There's only one road that goes around the island so you can't really get lost. p.s. according to the website of the San Gervasio Ruins the entry fee if $5 per person. robtulipe Posted May 31, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 31, 2009 You can also do the Sting Ray City Sandbar Snorkeling for at least half the cost per person of a typical ship's tour price by booking direct with the different tour operators that offer this at the pier in Gergetown. They will typically have pictures to show you of their boat and the sandbar site. The same goes for Dunn's River Falls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It is just outside the town. We went there and back to town in a taxi, who waited for us and did this with another couple. We did the walk up the fall together on our own. You don't really need a guide but do bring along a good pair of beach shoes with rubber soles and not just flip flop. When we were there you could rent these there but the cost of doing so was high and I remember thinking I was glad we brought our own which we also used for our other beach outings. Also, if you don't have arachnophobia, note the huge spiders in the trees near the top of the falls. These were there when we went there.

You have about a 45 minute ferry ride, and then a bus ride to the ruins. Personally, I would hit the water while in Coz. Beach time and snorkeling. cb at sea Posted May 31, 2009 #7 Share Posted May 31, 2009 At Labadee, don't rent the floats in advance---you may find you don't really need them. If you do, they're available in great quantities on the beach!
MellieInWI Posted May 31, 2009 #8 Share Posted May 31, 2009 Jamaica - Zip line through the rainforest canopy. Very, very cool. We booked this through RCCL. Cozumel - We did the Royal Swim through Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel. We wanted to specifically do the "royal swim package" which isn't offered through the cruise line, so we booked this on the Dolphin Discovery website. My husband still insists this was one of the best days of his entire life. Grand Cayman - We did the swimming with stingrays and snorkeling with Captain Marvin's (Captain marvin drove the boat!) and it was probably one of the best days of MY entire life. CAT GIRL Posted May 31, 2009 #9 Share Posted May 31, 2009 I guess I should clarify that the ruins I was referring to are the ones on the island of Cozumel. They are not nearly as grand as Tulum but worth checking out if you've never seen anything like that before.
firebound82 Posted May 31, 2009 #10 Share Posted May 31, 2009 Cozumel - DH and I did the Dolphin Encounter at Chankanaab Park. The encounter was amazing, but now we wished we'd splurged on the dolphin "swim". Taxi is included if booking thru the cruiseline. Also they let you stay the day at Chankanaab which has a beach, bar and you can snorkel. Place also has showers and lockers.
