Just curious, who or what are the Ashes?

The Ashes is the name of the Cricket test series between England and Australia and it's always massive..!! Dates back to the late 1800's and is one of the fiercest rivalries in all of world sport.

Thanks for the explanation.

Do they show sporting events on the MOTS screen? I was wondering if there would be any overage of the Ashes while i'm away on the Grand?

Sadly, you won't get any Ashes coverage on MUTS. The best you can hope for is to see a clip of the highlights during the sports news on ESPN in your room but even then I wouldn't hold out too much hope.

My dad was a Brit (from Sidcup Kent). He tried to explain cricket to me also - I just didn't get it!

You can buy a great Tea Towell over here that explains Cricket to foreigners... Here's how it read's.

"THE INS AND OUTS OF CRICKET"

You have two sides,

one out in the field and one in.

Each man that's in the side that's in

goes out, and when he's out he comes in,

and the next man goes in until he's out.

When they are all out, the side that's out

comes in, and the side that's been in goes

out ...

Simples..!! :D:D

Funnily enough I first thought you were going to tip them overboard too.

See what I mean...

I think you need to be born in the UK to understand Cricket.

  • 4 weeks later...

Consider this would British based P and O show American football on any of there ships i don't think so therefore it follows that American based Princess will not show the Ashes series on Muts , however you might get it on the stateroom TV . Enjoy the Grand she's our favourite ship so far :)
