Im in a Balcony upper 6135(8A). it offers the following-

Queen-size bed, single convertible sofa, and upper bed (whats that mean)

we are traveling with 2 adults and two teen girls(15-16)

people at work are telling me that towards the front like that you will get sick from the movement:eek: is this true?

I need some truth....

Upper bed means there is a bunk that folds up during the day along the wall and at night, the steward will unhook it and make it up, so it is like a upper bunk bed.

People who get sick could get sick toward the front because you do feel the movement of the ship more. I don't get sick, so I could be in the front and not have an issue.

Whether or not people get sick tends to be more dependent on the seas. We had 17 foot seas in December and I still didn't get sick; I actually enjoyed it-- when I'm on a ship, I like to feel like I am on a ship.

I always cruise in a cabin near the front of the ship. I only get sick when the seas are rough. I will just take a pill they offer for free on the ship and I am fine. My child has never been sick. I think it's an age thing with me. I just started getting sick during rough seas a few years ago.

What I would be more concerned about is what is directly above and below your cabin which might be a source of late night noise. There appears to be nothing directly above your cabin but more cabins. On the other hand, you are directly above the show lounge which could be a problem if you typically retire early.

We cruised in April in 6134, so on opposite side of ship. We didn't feel any ocean motion there. We had the same make up of room, and the sofa bed is kind of short, so switched our younger teen down from the upper, which was nice and long.

I had a look at your deck plans, and although you're up front somewhat

you're nowhere as up front as we were on Victory back in April

when we were in what is the equivalent of Cabin 6107 on your Destiny deck plans.

Now THAT's up front!

We had quite a bit of banging from the bow, when it smashes thru the swells!

The view from our balcony looked like this

UnderWay-89.jpg

What you're seeing here is the bow wave being spat out sideways!

We were right over all that action, if not a bit in front of it!

You'll be alright.

6135 is quite a reasonable location for an upfront cabin.

You won't have the whistling door-crack like we did, whole night :D
