Thanks caribill ! Don't plan to buy and not HOLD, but just wanted to know the rules. Buying CCL in my ROTH IRA acct. doesn't involve trade fees that I'm aware of, so as long as the price doesn't drop more than $2.50/share, we should be ahead of the game as we would be getting the $250 OBC on our next Princess Cruise (16 Days).

Yes, they could. However, I thought the question was, do they have to hold onto the stock. In which case the answer is no. Someone may end up holding onto to it if it never goes up from what they paid, but if they don't want to lose the inititial output, then they could choose to wait until it did..and for many it is equal or higher than what they paid.

There is no way to guarentee the stock will ever trade again for more than you pay. You could wind up holding for a long time.

you also get dividends at 10 cents per share per quarter (hopefully it stays). so thats an extra $40 per year if you buy 100.

Next 10 cent dividend is payable September 10 to shareholders of record on August 10.

1000 shares=$100 quarterly dividend. You must think CCL is a great investment.

Bill..........at 10 cents per share, 100 shares gives you $10 quarterly. I have 250 shares which multiplied the same way gives me $25 quarterly. Ergo.........$100.

Thanks to everyone for all the information. I made the purchase several days ago and now gathering up all the documents to send on to Princess for our upcoming cruise next month in the Baltic. The additional OBC will come in handy!

Just go to the casino cage and ask for however much you want in cash. Let's say you want to take $200. You will sign for that amount and also a 3% service charge. They will give you the $200 and charge your shipboard account for $206.00.

Shareholder benefits page says that the credit is nontransferable, and cannot be used for casino charges or gratuities charged to the account.

On our recent cruise, we had a lot of shipboard credit including $100 for shareholders. We asked the passenger service desk if it made a difference how we spent it and we were told anything charged to our account goes against the shipboard credit. It did not matter where you spent it -- spa, casino, tips, etc.

So don't worry about how to spend it!

The onboard accounting system is not that sophisticated. Any charges are just subtracted from your OBC balance until you start to owe Princess money.
