pellefsen Posted July 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2009 Sept 4th Alaska Milli cruise with late dining wondering what the pros and cons are in sitting on the balcony level of the main dining room. Also any updates on the Norvo would be appreciated.:p
spearmint Posted July 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 17, 2009 Sept 4th Alaska Milli cruise with late dining wondering what the pros and cons are in sitting on the balcony level of the main dining room. Also any updates on the Norvo would be appreciated.:p In my opinion, there are no cons!:) We tried main dining once, and went back to late dining from there on. pellefsen Posted July 17, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted July 17, 2009 Thanks, but I am more interested in knowing about the balcony (2nd story) pros and cons.
Breezey Posted July 17, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2009 We were on the 2nd floor of the Infinity MDR. We preferred it to the lower level because it felt smaller and more intimate to us. We had been on the main floor the first night and found it more hectic IMHO. We hadnt asked to move to the upper level but a smaller table. We were happy with the outcome. We also found since it is smaller in the upper level, we were able to develop a nice relationship with our Maitre D who came around a lot. Cons? Cannot answer that one. pellefsen Posted July 17, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted July 17, 2009 Great, thanks for the response. We requested a large table (hopefully they have large tables on the upper level), as having cruised in both large and 2 person tables, we really enjoy a variety of different personalities and conversations during dinner. CruisingChick Posted July 17, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2009 I think I like the upper level (5) better. We were on level 4 for our last 2 cruises and the one before that we were on level 5. I agree with the previous poster. Anne Maria
mferranti Posted July 17, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 17, 2009 We prefer the center area of deck 4, so we can go from the Martini Bar to our table down the grand staircase.
cb at sea Posted July 17, 2009 #8 Share Posted July 17, 2009 I don't think there are any Pros or Cons....it's just a place, after all! And, it's not the LOCATION that makes dinner special--it's your tablemates! The downside to late seating --you won't finish dinner until after 10pm, making any late snacking a no-go! (at least, for me!!!) The downside to main seating (for me)--it's just too early. We eat late at home, so I try to stick to my normal eating schedule--my tummy prefers that!
