Departing Venice on American Airline Question

We are booked on AA Flt #6279 to Madrid which Iberia operates. At which airline's counter do we check in - AA or Iberia? We have never been to Venice's airport. Thanks for your assistance.

American Airlines doesn't service VCE. You almost always (and I mean 99.99+%) check in with the operating carrier, which, in this case, is Iberia.

On codeshare flights (i.e. one airline's flight number but another's "metal") you always check in at the operating airline's counter.

 

Anyway, you'd look and look and never see an AA counter at Venice.

Flew this route this past March and as everyone has indicated you will check in with Iberia as AA does not operate out of Venice.
