Caribbean in December

Hi,

DH and I would like to celebrate our 10th anniversary by cruising the Caribbean. However, I'm concerned about the weather. What should we expect?

Went over the Christmas Holiday 2008 - weather was beautiful. What cruise are you looking at? What are the islands?

We are looking at Princess' Caribbean Collection (14 days) to:

Aruba

Curacao

Grenada

Barbados

St. VIncent

St. Kitts

St. Thomas

Santo Domingo

Grand Turk

We are going to the Caribbean for Christmas this year on the Liberty and I was curious as to what the weather is like. Is it basically packing summer clothes?

This is a great time of the year to visit the Caribbean in terms of the weather.

The Caribbean is tropical---it's "summer-wear" all year round. Depending on your departure port will determine how long it will be until you hit the warmer weather! That's why we like to sail from Miami---it's almost always "shorts" weather for departure! (An errant cold-front can change that, but the odds are, it won't!)

We are sailing from Miami also, so I guess leave the winter clothes back at the airport in Spokane..LOL that will be awesome, we are counting down the days now.

We cruised in Dec for our first cruise for our 25th anniversary and it was fantastic! The weather was beautiful and the water warm. If you go to weather dot com and look up the islands you will be visiting you can look at average temps for the month as well as average rainfalls. Have a great trip!

Yup...as another poster said sunny all year round. absolutely no winter clothes or even long sleeves necessary.

December through March is the best possible time of year to cruise the Caribbean.

The weather will be warm (or even hot) and sunny. You may encounter some showers. It's a great time to enjoy the beaches and to swim.

 

Re. packing: Yes, bring summer clothes and swimming suits.
