artistcleveland Posted June 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2017 hi We will be stopping in Cartagena, colón panama, puntarenas Costa Rica, puerto quetzal Guatemala, puerto Vallarta and Cabo. Is there more than one dock in these ports, or possible need to tender? Location may affect choice of excursions. Thanks
CruiserBruce Posted June 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2017 Some research on the various port boards for those countries would be very helpful- Cabo is a tender port, for an example. Most of the rest of the ports are small, and have one or two docking locations. If two, the locations are very close to each other. Cartagena- beautiful sail in, is by far the biggest of the ports. Cartagena has three docks , they are all together side by side. They talking about building a new cruise port across the bay from the existing to handle larger ships. Northern Aurora Posted June 20, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2017 Cabo and Puerto Quetzal are tender ports. ..... We have done six full Panama Canal transits, and three of those cruises included Puerto Quetzal. All three times we docked. I have never observed a ship tendering in Puerto Quetzal.
