  1. Thanks for your reply, when were you last on Fred and which ship?
  2. We've Never sailed with Fred Olsen before, but watched a lot of YT videos and the World Cruise ambiance and itineraries look very appealing. One thing, that might seem trivial to others that read this is that my favourite tipple is Johnnie Walker Black Label. I drink 3 or 4 large ones each evening. Every cruise line I have sailed with thus far has stocked it, lucky enough for me, (HAL, Regent 7 sees, MSC, NCL, Princess, P&O, Vikings, RCL etc) It is super important to me that Johnnie Black stocked on board, or I won't take the cruise of this length. So, do any if you good people know if Black Label is sold on board?
  3. Hi all. I am looking at the Bolette WC2025. We've Never sailed with Fred Olsen before, but watched a lot of YT videos and the ambiance and itinerary looks very appealing. 4. If I book a Princess Cruise with a travel agent, can I use the 20% FCC to spend on a drinks package?
  5. Yes. Wife always brings a cpl of packs. And tes bags!
  6. Yes, always make a cuppa last thing at night, with a chocolate biscuit too.
  7. I wonder if his concern about his insurance premium is because of his age? (I don't know it). I was chatting to one person of 78 that said that when you get to 80, your insurance cost is as much as the cost of a cruise.
  8. That's interesting, Hank. The poor passenger that was lifted off didn't even need to be evacuated. He had muscle strain! "I think you need in injection"
  9. Hi a friend of ours is looking at coming along on our next cruise, but is unsure if there are enough activities to fill her time on sea days. We can't remember everything, only the stuff that we took part in , so I was wondering if anyone remember to take pictures of any of the Princess Patter daily program for this cruise? If so - please post them many thanks.
  10. @deltaqueenie I apologise. You are quite right, we added one unscheduled port too. Oh well. One more cocktail...
  11. No we missed 2 out of 7 ports. Just tough luck.
  12. Yep, and also the chances of getting away from Iceland to get to the UK by Saturday.
  13. Think that the Captain may have chose the wrong time to announce that we had high winds when attempting to enter Akureyri, so had turned back out to sea when at the same time people were on their balconies and on deck and felt just a calm breeze & the Windy app was showing 8 knots. Then because of a medical emergency we sailed back to fjord and towards Akureyri and still the weather was calm, not even white tips on any waves. Not saying that the Captain was wrong in any of his actions, but the circumstances of his announcements confused people and they have a right to question it after spending thousands in $$$ I always imagined that we'd lose some ports this far north...luck of the draw.
  14. I will say that apart from the afore mentioned, IMHO the entertainment has been very good thus far. The shows and the musicians and artists in the smaller venues have been better than many cruises that we have done.
  15. For me the lesson learned on far northern cruises always choose a ship with a covered/ indoor pool, unlike Sky Princess. Otherwise everyone is squeezing into the inside bars, the outside pools and outside spaces are almost redundant. This weather problem would have been much more bearable if we had inside deckchairs and pools.
  16. Captain announced at about 8am that he had tried to get into port but the winds were to strong, so we have abandoned Akureyri and set back out to sea. Then a medical emergency meant that an hour later we were sailing back to Akureyri to get someone to a Hospital. Hope whoever is sick recovers safely. Now we are headed back out to sea again. Strangely, the weather seems fine on on deck, and sea very flat, and the wind appears calm. The Windy app on my android phone is showing an 8 knot wind so puzzling to me why we can't get ashore, but that's the captains call, not a novice like me.
  17. Thanks for that info @Eglesbrech , we are sooo looking forward to this cruise.
  18. We had that problem with RCI last October. Too many venues that were too small for a ship of 3500 passengers. It meant that we ended up in the same few areas each evening because we don't like early dining.
  19. @arizonaperson Thankyou for the reply. No wer are not Elite - It's Our first time with Princess xxx
  20. @Eglesbrech How many performances per night of each show?
  21. HI - Sailing on the Sky Princess on the 13th May, in a day and a halves time and I Just noticed that I need a Jacket dry cleaned. I don't want to chance next day cleaning here in my village in case it is not ready to pick up tomorrow.. Does any one know if there's a dry cleaning (rather than laundry) service aboard and if so how much for a Mans Suit jacket to be dry cleaned? Thanks in advance
  22. Really helpful Blog, thankyou. Could you be so kind as to let me know how many formal nights there were in this 12 night sailing? Many Thanks
  23. Wife and I, then in our early 50's took the HAL Volendam from Singapore to Hong Kong and we didn't think that the demographic was any different to say a P & O. We made friends with a 40 something couple and their 14 year old daughter and a 20's something couple and enjoyed various day excursions as a group with them (arranged on the fly with local taxis etc) We had a great time. But what we did find was that no matter the age group of he passengers, most people were in their cabins by about 9pm. It wasn't the age demographic, it was just preference. Maybe people choose HAL for the company of like minded 'early to bed' types.? We loved our trip, it was our favourite Cruise, the staff and just about everything else was fantastic, and eventually the few night owls like ourselves find each other and met up til' late. The entertainment in the crows nest (I think it was) remained until post midnight for the little group of us that wanted to drink and dance til late.
