  1. Sounds like a great concert. A fun evening for Pauline & Sarah. Boy George & Culture Club - gosh that brings back good memories.
  2. Thanks Greg. Would love to join you, Linda & everyone here on Bella2 but my son is desperate for me to visit him in Canada in late 2024 and DH only has one main holiday a year which is always in February (and the date is non-negotiable) so Bella2 is not an option for me but i am sure they will be many more Bella cruises and I will definitely plan to be on board a future one. And I sincerely hope that by the time Bella2 rolls around, the operation & therapy on your other knee will be behind you and you will be able to enjoy that cruise without any pain.
  3. So pleased my info was helpful to you. Enjoy exploring the inside of the OH and your cruise on the Brilliance.
  4. Many Australian mums of tweens & teens were in tizz today as presale concert tickets for @Ocean Boy’s favourite neighbour went on sale this morning. She is only doing 5 concerts - 3 in Sydney and 2 in Melbourne and the demand FAR exceeds supply. DD told me that the VIP tickets only give a guaranteed seat & a tote bag were selling for $1200.00.
  5. @sgmn re Glastonbury - Elton put on a superb performance. The girls thoroughly enjoyed it. She was showing me the video of his performance tonight. I saw all the great reviews for Cat Steven’s performance but the girls didn’t make it to see him. They had to be selective re the performances on the main stage as they found the heat and distances to the main stage daunting. It’s a massive site and they walked 65,000 steps. Early sunrise and such a late sunset (10pm) with very little shade made for very long hot days. Thankfully there was always plenty of water available and they were lucky to have a small area of shade near their tent. Having said that, they had an absolutely amazing experience. Such a unique festival. There was a great community spirit throughout the festival , plenty of wonderful smiling volunteers and the festival goers looked out for each other in the very big crowds. They girls felt safe the entire time and thoroughly enjoyed all the performances whether they were big ones on the main stage or small intimate ones in one of the many tents.
  6. Hi Sue. She arrived home tonight. She flew home with Singapore airlines. Prior to boarding at Heathrow her name was called. She was informed that her economy seat had a fault and they were moving her to another seat which fortunately for her was located in an empty row of 3 seats. So she made herself comfortable and had a blissful 14hour sleep all the way to Singapore. From Singapore to Sydney my dad was tracking her flight. I kept getting updates at work - “she’s just flying over Broome”, “she will be flying over Uluṟu shortly” and then dad messaged my nephew who lives in the Blue Mountains and was working from home “she is flying over your house right now”. Have a look out your window and wave” 🤣
  7. For anyone else reading this - the Opera House is running a FREE open house on the weekend of the 20-21 October weekend as part of their 50th Birthday celebrations. You will be able to wander through the Opera House between 9am & 4pm and need to allow 90 mins. Registrations to book a time slot are not open yet. Check the Opera House website to sign up for notifications if you are planning to be in Sydney that weekend & are interested.
  8. @h20skibum . No sleep and new meds would have really made you unwell. Hope you feel back to normal soon and able to fully enjoy your planned summer activities with your grandson. Lovely photos
  9. @Sea Dog I started a post response to your earlier posts last night but it was midnight and fell asleep… Sorry to hear your other knee has deteriorated. Pleased you have family with medical expertise to provide possible solutions that avoid major surgery & recovery again for you. MRIs - I spoke to my GP a while back and he said he can give me some meds if I need to have a MRI again as like you I found the experience claustrophobic. Greg, you are a true gentleman with a big heart. Please know that your Dani family know there was nothing at all offensive in your comment. As an occasional solo cruiser myself, I recall the kindness you showed a fellow cruiser who was a widow cruising solo for the first time, inviting her to spend the day at port with yourself and Linda, which she ended up doing.
  10. I really don’t want to prolong the discussion but I have never heard of those bridge nets before. Had to google it. I am hoping when I wake up tomorrow there will be good news regarding the missing crew (Titanic).
  11. Finally caught up on the trip reports and a couple of posts that I missed replying to. @singinalot thanks for sharing your girls weekend away with us. You take great photos & videos and as I mentioned before I love your restaurant/bar choices. I always get food envy from your trips and this time I got handbag envy too! @A&L_Ont Thanks for sharing your amazing Knights trip with us all. How wonderful that you got to experience that winning euphoria as a family. Nice touch that you reached out with your spare ticket too. Congratulations to Owen on his award. @dani negreanu Glad you are having a fab time at that superb looking resort. Look forward to your photos on your return. @Sea Dog love your Tiki garden and the statues that Linda gifted you for Father’s Day @Jimbo your new kitchen is stunning. Might have taken longer than you hoped but it’s definitely worth it. Your wife had a great eye. How did you go with your poem @lenquixote66 @lenquixote66
  12. I figure you have all seen photos from me of the Harbour, the Bridge & the Opera House from almost every angle by now…so it might be a very good thing that I share some sights from elsewhere….
  13. Given the amount of complaints here in Australia when the Carnival Luminosa (formerly Costa) arrived without water slides and no whale tail - I am wondering if Carnival Australia will cave and add them…Costa interiors are definitely an improvement on the standard Carnival interiors that’s for sure
  14. Well done! Happy 65th Birthday to your wife. Sounds like you are both in for a lovely birthday celebration evening next month.
  15. Aircon not working in an office is very unpleasant especially when it’s an ongoing issue. The mornings have become chilly here. In our office this week, we all have our personal heaters on (in addition to the aircon) and we are wearing scarfs and warm winter clothing.
  16. Used Allianz with cruise pack. Rang them closer to cruise to ask for Covid cover letter which they emailed immediately.
  17. Sounds like the gardening might have been quite the workout. Hot chocolate pudding with pears - yummy. Sounds like a lovely get-together.
  18. Pleasant Sunday in Sydney. Spent the afternoon at the Wildflower Gardens participating in a resin cheeseboard making glass. I’m not very artistic but I enjoyed the experience and loved seeing the other ladies creativity. Pick up my cheeseboard next week when the resin has set.
