  1. I still haven’t caught up with all your trip posts. I want to start from the beginning. I so wanted to climb a similar lighthouse recently but having had vertigo for an extended period in the past - it was a no go for me. Sorry you were so ill after your spiral climb.
  2. When I called Royal to cancel, they didn’t try to talk me out of it by offering OBC. Just said no probs and told me monies should be returned in 14 days.
  3. Good evening. Been a nice clear Saturday in Sydney. Did a myriad of interesting things in the city today including viewing a free photographic exhibition at the Australian Museum on the ceremonial body & facial adornment of the people of Papua New Guinea. Prior to that, wandered a large arts market where I bought beautiful art & photo prints. Ended the evening with our last Vivid Installation for 2023. These were taken this evening at Central Train Station clock tower & the “flames” installation was nearby. Vivid 2023 ends tonight at 11pm. It’s been pretty special this year imo. As someone said, Vivid Festival is now a winter version of NYE but with drones instead of fireworks.
  4. @grapau27 I can’t find your comment to reply to but yes it frustrates my Dad no end that his sister will not embrace technology. No computer or mobile phone. So phone cards are his only resort to call England.
  5. Oh no, poor Isaac. Awful to see the little ones unwell. Be a relief when he does bounce back. Glastonbury tickets - rare very rare. In a last ditch attempt after 5 years of trying - there was a tech “war room” in both families homes and all devices and all family members involved plus the two girls in London were doing their best to secure tickets too. Finally in the last 5 mins, her Sydney BF secured tickets.
  6. Either somewhere coastal further north or Queensland on the coast as quite a few of our recently retired friends have done.
  7. Agree. There weren’t any shore tours on offer for Eden for the March 2024 Ovation either.
  8. The Ovation cruise refund won’t come for another two weeks. The Eden shore tour I have booked is with Princess.
  9. @MJSailors Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary. I am so sorry to read of your husband’s nasty fall and you testing positive post cruise. Hope you both feel better soon.
  10. I have one elderly Aunt in Exeter that my dad calls every Sunday at 7pm. He was telling me last night that the international phone cards he uses to call his sister are unfortunately being phased out. Dad also has a cousin and many friends in the UK. My late mum’s brother & extended family are in Surrey. My DD and 3 Australian friends are in England for Glastonbury. After 6 years of trying they finally got tickets. My daughter’s best English friend is joining them at Glastonbury. They met whilst her friend was on a working visa in Sydney. Pleased to hear the weather forecast is good as the four girls will be camping at the festival. Hope little Isaac feels better soon.
  11. Thanks @jagsfan. I am glad you enjoy my posts so much. I figure since I am not a frequent cruiser like everyone else here, I could contribute by showing all the things you can do from the Sydney port. I also thought yourself and @dani negreanu who have been to Sydney would especially appreciate my posts.
  12. Apparently, we are moving from Sydney in 5 years. DH told me that once we are empty nesters, he wants to sell up and move…plenty of discussions to be had before that happens.
  13. Your photos are absolutely stunning. What a great location to be babysitting. Thank you for sharing them. Lovely photo of your son & DIL too. My daughter arrived in London yesterday. First full day was spent at Hampstead Heath swimming. Hopefully the heatwave eases soon.
