  1. Public holiday Monday here and after a morning of cleaning inside & out, we decided to make the most of the lovely weather. Walked from Manly up to North Head to check out the newly opened lookouts in the Fairfax loop track.
  2. What a wonderful surprise for Owen. Have a great time & fingers crossed you all are watching your team win the championship.
  3. @jagsfan the young Aboriginal lead in the film is an inspired casting choice. His character has little dialogue and so his beautiful expressive face and luminous eyes are perfect for the role. I worry for child actors and would be happy for this role to be his one and only which was the case for the actor from the movie Australia.
  4. @grapau27 Graham, thank you for sharing your beautiful photos & video. You had prime position in that rear balcony. As others have commented the food looks superb every single night. Nice photo of you too with the ship in the background.
  5. Gorgeous photo. She looks so happy. My DD met Ed Sheeran at the airport & won tickets to an intimate performance on a floating pontoon in the middle of Sydney Harbour. He was lovely on both occasions.
  6. Good evening. We have had another beautiful day in Sydney on this King’s birthday long weekend. DH & I saw a new Cate Blanchett film at the Sydney Film Festival in the city. The New Boy. A historical drama set in 1940s in outback South Australia, Cate plays a devout nun who runs a small orphanage for boys when a young Aboriginal boy with possibly special abilities is delivered to her by the authorities. Beautiful cinematography and well acted. DH who picked it just shook his head at the end. Heavy on religious imagery, he thought it was weird. I thought it was very well done. Meanwhile, DD was picnicking with friends at Observatory Hill near The Rocks in the city. Not bad for winter. Once we got home, I went for a long walk locally. A bit of colour & a brush turkey in the last of the autumn leaves.
  7. Connecting to cc is going smoothly atm but in the past it’s been glitchy. Guess I am concerned that finding that forum & posting is going to be tricky. I only look at the Aust & NZ forum and this thread when I go on cc.
  8. Been a beautiful Saturday in Sydney. The sun shined on the lovely young couple that got married today. We have 4hrs between the church service and the reception on the harbour front. Spent it at Clark’s Point Reserve Woolwich where the bridal party got some beautiful photos taken (actually there were two bridal parties having photos taken). Looking forward to tonight’s reception.
  9. @HBE4 Glad the firies came to you and Leonard’s rescue and Leonard is safely home. An exhausting and frightening experience for you both. I think Leonard may have even outclimbed Lucy @A&L_Ont was the tree taller than the top of your hay bales?
  10. My girlfriend & family have been travelling around Italy. She texted me yesterday to say they were boarding their NCL ship (I am thinking Norwegian Gem) for a 10 day cruise. She forgot to send me the itinerary from the TA before she left but from my quick research today - it looks like this one and I am thinking/hoping for them it’s a good one? Departing Ravenna (they originally had hotel booked in Venice until they realised their error) Koper Trieste Hvar Kotor Corfu Santorini Mykonos Dubrovink returning to Ravenna (excuse my spelling I scribbled the ports down in a rush at work)
  11. Marketing dept attempting to make adult diapers appealing.I think they had potential until they decided on the golden colour scheme….
  12. @lenquixote66 the skin cancer treatment never ends. I have to use the face cream for 2 weeks. GP told me to use it mid-winter so I am just trying to find a fortnight where I don’t have too many things booked… Good luck with your treatment whether it’s surgery or not.
  13. Gosh that kennel hitch could have been a major drama - glad they were able to take your fur babies. Have a fab cruise.
  14. Happy Birthday to Susan and enjoy your summer with your grandson. I look forward to your photos of your activities. Your grandson is fortunate to have such loving, active & involved grandparents.
  15. This brings back bad memories of the smoke haze we had in Sydney from the 2019 bushfires. I am sorry to read of the wildfires in Canada. Another contingent of Australian firefighters flew out to assist yesterday. I hope the smoke haze clears soon for everyone impacted. I know how eerie and unpleasant it is.
  16. Before the drone show, walked the light show (with music) at the Botanical Gardens with a nice glass of mulled wine. It’s hard to tell from the photo but it’s a whale in the Ocean. The kids squealed when this one first came on.
  17. Just spent a pleasant hour at the Sydney Opera House, waiting at the harbour’s edge for this to happen: Vivid 2023 Drone Show. Absolutely amazing!! @singinalot
  18. I mentioned influencers because I was wondering if their target market is 25-45 year olds. I have no idea of their target market overseas but I was thinking along the line of those who go to Virgin Active gyms. Yea, obviously all ages use gyms but the majority of clientele would be the age range I mentioned
  19. Fair enough. I enjoyed your previous reviews so thought I’d ask.
  20. Enjoy your cruise. Will you do a mini review after your cruise?
  21. Sorry to hear your two cruises are about to be cancelled. The bookings must be pretty poor to do that. I wonder how many influencers will get freebies on the first couple of cruises to promote the heck out of the ship on social media?
