    Rental car in Hilo

I don’t believe they are running at this time. Hopefully we’ll be able to Uber.
  2. Ok, curious as to how you find these group rates you all are talking about
  3. We have a car at the airport reserved for a 10:30 am pickup. We will be arriving in Hilo at 9:30. Will this give us enough time to get to the airport? I don’t want them to give our car away. 😬
  4. We have a morning ship’s tour -going to a sheep farm/city highlights which should return us to the ship about 1:15 or so. We just booked a punting tour on the Avon River starting at the Antigua Boat Sheds for 3:30 (have not had to pay yet). I understand we can take the #28 bus about 40 minutes from the ship to the boat tour. Punting is over about 4 pm at which time we can take the bus back to our ship. (Best case scenario would be for the first tour to let us off in town, catch lunch, and then go punting instead of going all the way back to the ship.) My question really is if we can indeed catch a bus after punting (4 pm) and get back to the ship on time. We sail at 6. Is anyone familiar with the bus schedule? Do they go pretty regularly and on time? Thank you!

    Honolulu luau

Have never been to this one (only Paradise Cove and going to Polynesian Cultural Center this time), but it looks pretty good and would fit your time frame: Ka Moana Luau at Sea Life Park. checkin is 5-5:30; dinner 5:45-6:45, Luau at 7; finishes at 8. They do offer transportation from Waikiki -$25 RT and says they get back at 8:30. I saw this on TravelShack website
  6. Thank you. Will certainly take your advice into account. Never really thought about this before. 😬
  7. We are staying In Honolulu post cruise and are actually in the same situation with a flight that leaves at 9:30 pm. We have to check out of our condo at 10 and didn’t know what to do with our luggage or how to spend the day. We ended up renting a car from Hertz at their downtown location so we can take our luggage from the condo and tour a little bit before taking the car to the airport before our flight.
  8. We called the pharmacy directly (W Pender location) and they made appointments for us. No money needed upfront. 50CAD on day of test
  9. There is a Shopper’s Drug Mart on W Pender St. We made an appointment by phone. It is 50CAD
  10. I am in agreement that MTD starts too late now and TD is too early. (I am feeling somewhat like Goldilocks.)We used to love MTD and enjoyed eating 5:45 to 6:15. We always got in at our chosen time, received great service and were always ready to start activities by 7 in the evening. But with MTD not starting until 6:45 in some cases, the early show is definitely out. TD at 5:15 is too early, but not much choice
  11. The Rexall and Costco nearest our hotel do not offer Covid testing. SDM seems the best option for us. Made our appointment via phone —all set!
  12. Hi Casper41. Thank you for the info. What’s a care card? We’re from the US. Are we still eligible to get a test?
  13. Thank you for your input. Even though we could get a less desirable cabin, I guess we’ll take our chances! We have several cruise days going from Vancouver to Hawaii so thought we’d give Royal Up a try. We shall see. 🤞🏻
  14. We have an interior (or inferior as some like to call it!) cabin on our upcoming Radiance cruise chosen for location. We put a bid in for a balcony, which we probably won’t get. But was wondering—are there any ‘bad’ balconies on Radiance? If on the off chance we win our bid, could we get one that’s obstructed-and how obstructed are they? Guess any balcony would be better than an interior Thanks
  15. Thanks so much for for reply!
  16. Hi. Does anyone know if you need to prepay for a Covid test at this drugstore when you make an appointment or if you pay the day of your test? Thanks! Rita

    Honolulu luau

Hi Georgia-cat. After re-reading my earlier post today, I hope I did not mislead you. There are a couple luau packages to choose from at the PCC and transportation ($25/person) is an optional add on to them. So our total package included the Ali’i luau and the extra transportation. (They have several pick up points in Waikiki). Sorry if I wasn’t clear

    Honolulu luau

I saw the one for Hale Koa, too, and it looked nice, but as we are not military, I didn’t think we were eligible to attend (?)

    Honolulu luau

I forgot to mention that they give a 10% discount if you reserve at least 10 days before you want to go. 😊

    Honolulu luau

We are doing the one at the Polynesian Cultural Center which we wanted to visit anyway. We chose the package that includes the tour of the center, the luau, an evening show after that, and round trip transportation from Waikiki. It will be a full day (I believe pickup is around 10:30 am), but it includes everything we wanted. Reviews were good!
  22. This is what I get, too. Can’t go any further. ??
