  1. After my DW had the all clear from the breast clinic, I have been checking worldwide travel insurance costs in preparation for our Caribbean roundtrip on Iona in 2025. Of our 2 previous insurers, Staysure were not willing to quote, and Free Spirit super duper wanted £5000 for a an annual policy. However Nationwide Flex plus came up with a quote which was a little more than 10% of the FS quote. How on earth can underwriters be so different?
  2. From memory I think we were given an invitation card at check in when we first became Caribbean, so you may get one, otherwise just ask one of the crew which dining room has the Peninsular lunch.
  3. Probably true, but best not to let the IT people try to fix it, otherwise poor Dobbers might find it puts them both in her husbands category.😮
  4. Hurry back @Dermotsgirl I do enjoy our occasional discussions.😇
  5. It must be a special offer because I dont think our launch booking had any other reduction.
  6. That is what my son and DIL did with our 8 month old grandson 12 years ago on Azura, and over a 12 night cruise their pager only bleeped twice.
  7. I just checked the current price for our Jan 2025 Caribbean cruise on Iona and for a select balcony in the same location, the price is £37pp cheaper, and the OBC is the same at £250pp, although booking on board might give some extra OBC. We booked on board at launch and only paid £50pp deposit, so the price has to reduce dramatically before we would consider a change.
  8. Unless your cruise ship is going round in circles, then balcony cabins will get an equal amount of sun every day.
  9. Not much wind here and hopefully east of the pennines won't be too bad. Covid jabs for is this afternoon, as well seems that it is quite popular today.
  10. The new cruise terminal can take at least 3 ships.
  11. It's possible that they cannot get a US visa to enable them to work on US cruise lines?
  12. The port infused stilton now looks like something the cat coughed up, IMO not something I want to try.
  13. Not sure which menus you were viewing, but IMO they were the classy ones I remember, which are far superior to the current ones.
  14. We never have that problem, we record everything we want to watch, and then can whizz through the adverts when we settle down to view them. We only watch sport and the news live.
  15. I dont understand this damp environment comment, and others who say their towels do not dry overnight. Our towels dry very quickly, we leave them hung on the hangers behind the bathroom door after showering before dinner, and by bedtime they are dry.
  16. I agree with Selbourne their response to e-mails is appallingly slow. However their service for the car parking is excellent, and after nearly 10 years using them we have only ever had one issue, which was a parking fine from the port, which was quickly resolved and they either paid the fine or got it cancelled.
  17. They still only add about 3 or 4 miles to the odometer, so the car park must be fairly close.
  18. It's all a question of choice, at a touch under 5' foot 9", I never found the cattle class cabin uncomfortable, so never considered paying extra for more legroom.
  19. Went to Bucharest on business once, the local grocers had just had a truckload of eggs delivered and the queue was miles long.
  20. That was P&O before they did away with separate gratuities.
  21. I did say presumably for the ones I had not cruised on! I understand that Emerald did go downhill badly before its last dry dock, however Sky Princess in July was quite a few notches up on our Iona MDR experience in February.
  22. I must admit I swore I would never use a kindle or tablet to read a book, but lockdown and libraries closing, made me try downloading to my tablet from the library, and I still do.
